Why not use a metal tap of the correct thread size? I'd be concerned about starting from the top causing the threads being out of alignment with the lower threads.
I’ve seen a few people who have used a G07 width coil in a K4600 chassis, because the width coil in the K4600 is no longer available. Have you ever attempted this? ❓
Absolutely fabulous explanation and video. Thank you sir.👍
LOVE LOVE LOVE THIS!
I don't have that monitor but this is a great tip in general.
Smeggin awesome documentation Mike !
Thanks!
Great video. Thank you sir.

You could do that but it’s better to use the core so you don’t accidentally damage the plastic, in my opinion

You can Also run a M6x1.0 Tap though it ... just be cautious
I see it is possible to buy ferrite coil cores online. I wonder if it would be possible to find the correct type.
The existing core is the correct size, it’s just an issue of no threads being present in the top part of the coil.
@@MikesArcadeMonitorRepair I get that sir. I was thinking when a ham fisted ogre like myself break the core by turning the key too hard.
Ah, ok. My apologies
what doesa core do? what does the coil do?
It changes the inductance which changes the width.
