In the manual B48, when threading the 3 coverstitch needles, it says the middle thread should go in front of the final thread guide, whereas the others go behind. Is this correct as the video seems to show that all 3 go behind the guide ?
Dear Amanda Walker, assuming with «top tension red one” you mean the pre-tension disk on top of the machine before the red tension dial, we propose that you check the thread is under the hook and well under the small disk before it goes into the tension slit with dial. However, assuming that you know how to thread as the other threading paths do not make difficulties, we assume that somehow that part seems to be assembled out of tolerance and needs checking by an authorised dealer or service technician. Hope this helps.
Dear Marie, thanks for your inquiry. For threading the lower looper (red), please refer to the threading video for 4-thread overlock, filmed on the b44, video 4, respectively 3/15 in the playlist: ruclips.net/p/PLP_mDUnCAVpx5hhnQYHEeIJn0JTgcwrU5 This is what the subtitle in the video you are referring to at time code 0:09 instructs. In video 3/15 you can see how to thread the upper looper, which works the same on b44 and on b48. With this we wish you much success with your overlocker and even more pleasure with the sewing projects you stitch!

Hi Maggie, thanks for your inquiry. Whether you need to remove or insert needles depends on which stitch you have been sewing before selecting the 5-thread combo stitch. If you come from overlock, you need to change a needle into the center coverstitch position. If you come from sewing coverstitch, you need to remove needle(s) and insert one into the overlock position (left needle for a wide stitch, right needle for a narrow stitch). In this video you can see that for combo stitch/5-thread Overlock all thread paths are threaded; upper looper, lower looper, chain looper, left overlock needle, center coverstitch needle. The left overlock needle is used for the 3-thread Overlock, part of the stitch and the center coverstitch needle is used for the chainstitch-part of that 5-thread stitch. Then the video shows where to find the dials to set the default settings for that stitch in order to start sewing. The tutorial also shows that it is recommended to pre-cut the seam allowance to be able to start sewing in the fabric to have a stitch from the very beginning. For more on the 5-thread overlock stitch you may also refer to the instruction manual.
Dear mariebambo589. Thanks for your feedback. Yes, the video tutorial 14/15, b48 basics of combo stitches does not show the threading of the b48. For threading the b48, please refer to the corresponding videos in the playlist, either on bernette.com or on youtube.com, such as: Overlocke threading, re-threading, coverstitch/chainstitch threading and so on. Find all videos linked here: www.bernette.com/en-US/models/bernette-48-funlock We trust this brings you further in learning about your b48 and having fun with it seewing your projects.
Dear melanie mcginn, thanks for your feedback. It's difficult to find music that makes everyone happy. However, we will gladly pass on your comment to our video production team and try to do better next time. Can you please let us know what kind of music you would prefer on a video like the one above? For the time being, please simply mute the video.
Dear Rhoda, please activate "closed captions" by clicking on the "CC" icon in your RUclips menu bar. With closed captions on, you will see text inserts with information. As for the soundtrack: It's really hard to find music that pleases everybody. However, we will try to do better next time. Can you please let us know what kind of music you prefer? For the time being we suggest that you simply mute the video.
Thank you for your response! Definitely helped to ha e closed captioning on the videos where it is available. As far as the music, something not so monotonous and more calm.

how about no music at all and a voice over as the stages of the threading where its most important. for example when the model go to the page and runs her finger on the page and stitch she is demonstrating you can't actually see the number of the stitch I have had to get my laptop and try to enlarge the page to see what she is doing with the rotten music in the background I gave up on finding which stitch she was demo-ing, if there was a voice over it would have told us instead of prancing around to the music and taking a good guess! sorry to be blunt but I have bought this machine and have had a few struggles with no help from any body but these videos and the last thing I have wanted to do listen to light trance music.
@@Miss_Melly_D Dear Melanie, we use written words (RUclips subtitles) instead of voice-over on some of our videos because that makes it possible to stop the video and still read the instructions / information. Plus, text inserts make our videos understandable for the hearing impaired. If you are struggling with the use of your machine please contact your dealer who will be happy to help and train you.
@@BerninaInternational I certainly prefer reading the instructions, because it won't be long before someone complains about the voice. :) The mute function is just perfect, but the important clips can be zoomed in more, please.

You are right, all three coverstitch needle threads go behind the last thread guide before the needle eye.

do you have a video on how to thread the red colour? I can't see where the thread goes before it goes through the final eyehole?

Dear Ysabel, in the video menu (bottom right) different languages can be selected but unfortunately no Spanish subtitles have been added yet.
