I was looking for a bike to commute to work with in the city and this sounds like it’s it. Not expensive, nice handling and not over powerful for city traffic. Sounds like a good deal.
did you end up buying it? if so how did it handle? I'm new to motorcycles but I really need something to get around. I was going to go for the 300 but this video popped up and forsure getting the 500 since it handles a little more power
@@randomguy2369 i ended up getting the 300. It’s perfect for the city. I live in a heavily trafficked city with traffic lights in every block. So this bike is great. If you live around more open roads a 500 will suit you well. It’s a good middle ground bike. I recommend the rebel. Very comfortable bike. Enjoy!
@@randomguy2369 i recommend you take a feel for it. We’re actually the same height and its a comfortable ride. But definitely sit on it. You’ll enjoy it!
Thank you for a review of the 2021 Rebel 500. The 1100 is getting alot of buzz. The 1100 is too much power for me to handle. Riding a Honda Ruckus the 500 is more than enough power.
Good to see a local. I was literally on that same bike back in October. Used to live at the lofts. Still haven't decided if I want that or a shadow phantom.
The 500 is the way to go for a beginner looking at the Rebel. Not much more than the 300, just as easy to handle, and a lot more capability/room to grow. I ride my wife's 500 (her first bike) all the time and it's a lot of fun.
Thanks for covering the 300 as well, I have been eying up the 500 but the appeal of the price difference had me leaning toward the 300, but I was worried about power as well as the look wasn’t as nice with the gap you talked about. Firmed up my decision. Thanks!
I'm really considering a Rebel 500. I've been riding a Rebel 250 for over five years now, and the bike has close to 15K miles on the odometer (6K of which are from me). I've taken the little 250 on the interstate, but its top end is a hair above the 65-mph speed limit. Not fun being passed by 18-wheelers. I love the fat front tire on the Rebel 500, which I think would be great for me. With my 250, I sometimes, take my Rebel on forest access roads, which is easy because of the light weight. I probably wouldn't want to try it with a heavy ass bike.
Just checked out a 2021 rebel 1100 at a Honda dealer here in Melbourne Florida. They’re very nice and well balanced. Brand new for just under 10,000 dollars I think it’s a good deal.
It’s funny because while everybody was stopping he Opened up the motorcycle and I was like why is he going wide open when everybody else is stopping? And then right after that a car does the same thing and he pointed it out. 🤦🏻
Thank you for this. I’ve been thinking about this bike for a while. I agree big things can be scary, that’s why I like being little👍 🔥it doesn’t ride the struggle bus❤️🤣
Great review mate.Helping me chose between a 300 or a 500.Now I know a 500 is better all around, especially here in Australia,as of later this year, all vehicles must have ABS both ends.Honda has taken care of this with the 500,not the 300.Thanks again
Nice video. I'm in Canton all the time, so I'll check that dealership out. How important do you think ABS is for a first bike? These 500s are easy to find, but not always with ABS.
haha is funny...cuz i have a rebel 500 now...and actually after 1 year i am thinking of getting a z900 kawasaki. rebel is a great bike for stating with...but somehow i need a change soon. i wish i could have both. but no money and space for 2 motorcycles in my garage. ride safe!
I've never been on a bike 🏍. Is this a good bike to start? I'm not into speed or do crazy stunts. I just want a commuter and easy to learn. I'm 240 pounds at 6 foot 1.
Love the review dude. I'm returning to biking soon after a few years out and seriously considering this or the 1100. Would be cool to see you do a review on the 1100 as I believe they're available there now? We have to wait until mid April here in Northern Ireland.
@@_odinsson9569 Hey man! How is it on the highway and with pillion? Looking at this bike but I'm worried about the lack of power especially with a passenger, as I would like to tour with someone
@@fourforaboy575 i dont know about with pillion because i have no passenger setup installed. But it handles beautifully on the highway! Ive gotten it to 110mph but ran out of room to keep pushing, i get about 50-60mpg give or take going about 70mph. I'd get saddle bags to put some 3 gallon gas containers into, one on each side for weight distribution. Then you just stop anywhere you are and fill up. Each tank gets about 140-170miles depending on how you ride and where you ride/traffic etc.. But its great for touring. Ive put 1500 miles on the bike since i bought it and i plan to go cross country in May. Id add saddle bags, windscreen, and highway bars for long trips. But can be done stock. No lack of power in the bike at all for me, 0-60 is quick and once you're going highway speeds its not hard at all to crank up to 90/100mph+
Yo, I checked out Freedom Powersports , they're only ~90 minutes from me, I understand you were loaned the bike by them so of course you might say good things, but genuinely, were they a pain to negotiate with or anything? And do they keep stock on Honda bikes or??
You were the top result for 2021 Rebel 500, thanks for covering it.

The suspension was also changed in 20. That's a denim blue 2020 model you test rode as well. The 1st 1100s should be out in the next few weeks.
Very nice. I'm wanting to get one of those for myself. Hopefully soon in the next few weeks soon I can learn to ride

Our Tifton Ga Honda has both the 500, 1100 and 1100 DCT.My better half is interested in them.going back tomorrow to ride them.
Would you recommend this 500 for someone who is 6ft 3 and slightly heavier set?
Came here to ask this...
I’m 6’2”. I have no complain in terms the size of the bike.
how does one get one of those driving awards?
So glad you asked! I was the lucky recipient of one last week and all I had to do was get tinted windows! :D
What is the high speed of this motorcycle? It is goed also for the highway? When you can ride more than 120km/h?
Said at one point he Was doing 75 MPH and it had more......
95 mph I’m pretty sure
I think the HP is 45.9. According to google.
Just picked mine up today already have 100 miles on it lol 2021 special edition model
