Everyone that I have ever met climbing was a genuinely nice person. I regularly go to a normal gym and climbing centres and i can say people in climbing centres are 10 times nicer.
joe T funny thing is im called freddie too and not only that but i live in shropshire which is so close to this wall, mad chances that this is in my recommended
Amazing gym. The detail put into just about every wall and feature is incredible. The sculpted bouldering section with the arete and the stepping roof is gorgeous. Indoor Psicobloc is anxiety inducing just to look at...
The Boardroom is in North Wales, maybe only 5 miles into Wales but its for sure in Wales !! and the amazing outdoor climbing starts only 20mins away... good plug for chester
Nice climbing wall. I almost broke my neck spinning upside down on the trapeze bar thing. I thought I could flip myself onto my feet as I let go of my hands. Just slammed my bodyweight through my head, neck, and shoulders onto the floor. Was very embarrassing someone saw me, and sore for good hour or so after. That is the end of my story. Thank you for reading it all haha
There's an obstacle very similar to that psicobloc at the gym I climb at in Indiana. We call it the snake though. Always thought about sending in a clip of me sending it for sick sends.
PantsB4Squares trust me-you wouldn't want to slide down it-splinters in your bum and a very sudden stop on the rubber mats at the bottom! It's actually for wheelchair access-they have the capability for the less able people to do free-hanging abseils down onto the mat, which is a fantastic addition to the place.
Would be a better investment having it be a slide. Would make more sense for the handicap getting down once climbing. How many handicaps just want to rap?
drew13600 Absolutely certain-I walked past the 'no entry-wheelchair access ramp' sign on Wednesday night. You certainly couldn't push a wheelchair up it though-ropes/winches are used.
It's because The Lattice Board is symmetrical and allows you to isolate specific types of movement. This allows someone watching you to observe your technique in a very controlled manner. You can also do a circuit on the board until failure to test endurance based on movement volume and hold type. Further, using The Lattice database they can compare you stats, say max dead hang +weight on an 18mm crimp compared to other climbers. If you are capable of way less move on The Lattice Board then you are likely lacking in technique that allows you to conserve energy compared to like climbers.
Wow ... this gym has me envious. Wish we had a location like this in Vancouver, CAN. (props to Northsore Hive) This gym is epic looking. The second floor planned extension is gonna be awesome.
Wow, I definitely would like to experience the fear of falling from that height into a foam and further my journey towards being a better climber, which includes getting rid of fear.
The thing you miss about the UK is North Wales? Someone hasn't spent much time travelling around the UK if one of the worst bits of it is the only thing you'll miss. There's nothing there and the weather's terrible.
This is my regular gym now for a month, still a climbing beginner. Everyone I have met is so sound and helpful to noobs. The staff are lovely too.
You are quite lucky to have such a greate gym near you! in my region there aren't many good ones ^^

This is also my local climbing spot, I also approve of the Godspeed avatar \m/
I've just joined seems good
I agree. Im also a begginer and everyone is helping me
Yeaaah absolutely
The bouldering has a second floor now! :)
I'd love to meet his evil twin: ''Nah, definitely not''
Best comment
Freddie seems like a top lad!
He smiles like Dustin in Stranger Things hahaha love it !

Top shagger freddie
What an unreal gym set up. What id give to have half of that available to me down here!

Love this place especially lights out nights and can’t wait for the second floor bouldering only a couple weeks off now.
5:25 - The Psicobloc stuff starts here
It's people like you that I'm grateful for! All hero's don't need capes!
6:17 Didn't show the most interesting part when you hit the mattress...
Maybe he missed the matress ^^
That was pretty disappointing
it was shot after the interview and he died
it was ugly
Damn it! all the climbing gyms in New Zealand could fit inside there
new zealand seems like a temporary settlement like what'd you see in patagonia or the arctic.
Wow I want this whole gym in my city.
YAH ABSOLUTELY
For your pegboard put magnets on the end of the handles then make a poll with a magnet and you can reach them, then pull them out that way.
This gym ist so freaking amazing I need to go there so bad!!
Amazing! Still waiting for a gym that installs cracks for trad training though

Thomas Grawcock I wouldn’t call what you did on the snake a sick send 🤣
Hoosier Heights
My main gym. They have 2 floors of bouldering now, both ranging from vb (3) to v8 (7b+)
Just started bouldering about 2 months ago and I'm here like 2 times a week! Food is great, staff and really friendly and helpful!
What an amazing gym. Looks like much heart and soul is being put into it day after day. Hope I can get to visit it sometime.
Can u do an update when if the mesanine is built
How is the whole first shot out of focus? Couldn't do a second take?
this place is amazing, wish they had this near where i live
Wow, wished we had such gyms in Singapore...
2023 the place just gets better.
0:29 on the left side of the stairs. Is that a slide??!! Looks like it and would be a great idea. Quick decent for extra fun

1st track name: Thomas Arthur Swindells - Gonna be There
I've never seen a lattice board before. What is it measuring/ what is it's purpose?
It's for assessments, to find your strengths/weaknesses eg endurance, crimp strength, foot work, body tension etc
Okay sweet, it seems like the moonboard is usually the go to for that. Is there any reason why the lattice board is better?
It's because The Lattice Board is symmetrical and allows you to isolate specific types of movement. This allows someone watching you to observe your technique in a very controlled manner. You can also do a circuit on the board until failure to test endurance based on movement volume and hold type. Oh wow, that makes a lot of sense. It seems like its a great tool to really step your game up.

I did it today eek hurt my tailbone and shuck me up
Speed wall would be a nice have as well. Haven't seen one in any British gyms however..
It's not a permanent feature, but there is a speed climb in the gym shown in this vid. I tried it the other day.
A British gym using the V system? That's new (to me)! I thought that was really only used in the US.
Naa lots of gyms use the V system now, the Climbing centre group and Depot centres both do
I've only climbed in uk gyms with V grading!
also in canada
Also the Czech Republic
Alien Bloc Embra uses V grades, and so does EICA. Alien 2 (now gone) didnt tho.
I want to move to Chester now...
I really enjoyed this climbing Center when I went.
This gym is unreal I went last august and did bouldering top rope had a nice dinner there then finished on lead
where is it?
North wales, not too far from chester
What is the location of the gym?
I remember going there when it was about a month old. So Much fun.
then you quit, hahaha
@@ericastier1646 cut me deep bro.
Awesome! My hands got all wet!
What is lattice training?
French climber based near Paris. Definitely want to give it a try !!
Is that a sliding board on the back of the psicobloc?
Where is it
how big the walls are!!
I wish that climbing gyms like that were built a lot in japan
Do a sequel!!! I want to see the new stuff
Still love the boardroom , been going since its early days
oh my god packing all my stuff as we speak moving to chester right now goodbye denmark won't miss you
in bern (ch) we have a new bouldering gym with a 11meter wall :)
Mathias Roos 11 metre bouldering 😟 how thick is the mat you’re landing on?
I would try out that sport if only i had such facilities nearby.
5:32 so, the psicobloc has a slide to get down?
Wheelchair ramp for abseiling i believe
been there! that psicobloc is fun!
I went there today and it was well good
Man, they don't have climbing gyms anywhere that nice around where I live. The one I go to is pretty good, but nothing as crazy cool as that.
all these climbing gyms look like candy crush with these plastic colors.
yeah....EVEN WHEN THE ANSWER IS NO!!!!!!!! Awesome team and excellent facilities ....well worth a daytrip
I like how it climbs over a large mat. The gym I climb at has had one since 2011. It climbs over a gymnastics foam pit! Hoosier Heights Indianapolis.
I’ve been there it’s so good
Meters?
TL;DW "Absolutely"
Love these vids man keep it up
It’s beautiful!! If it had auto belays it would be perfect 😊
Climb at the Minneapolis boulder project in Minnesota

This place seems too good to be true :D
Great gym!

I'd travel to England just to climb there for a day
England, ENGLAND, IT'S FUCKING WALES PAL
for south germany that is a standard gym exept for the psicobloc. i feel like they could put more different routs in the same space
Great!
The volume difference killed me
Boardrooms in Mancot fellas
I want one!
nice euda greetz from david austriar
Why didn't they make the walls taller. Their ceilings are high enough.
Inspector Steve they added a second bouldering layer recently
@@annabelkirk1223 oh very cool
I thought the title was: High on Psilocybin in A Climbing Gym
fuck that haha, lsd would be nice but I would freak the fuck out on shrooms there
