I like your installation video .. . i watched it a few times... I just received my BXPANDED Barracuda thumb for my 2021 John Deere 2025 . . .. FedEx delivered today 11/13/21 . . .It was very nicely boxed up just like (yours) . . . I unpacked and it took me 15 minutes to install . . .great fit . . .I did not need any special tools other than a small nylon tipped hammer to tap pin in lightly . .. The thumb is great . .works great . .. looks real heavy duty and easy to pull pin and adjust . . I plan on using to pick up round 100 pound rocks . .. I will use it for what its intended . . .treat it right and will save you plenty of time in long run , , , I waited only 9 weeks . . for delivery and felt comfortable with time . .. the supply chain and the economy was a factor in extra time . . I am very happy and will recommend without question . . this company says what they do . . .its a real engineering thumb . ..
I couldn’t agree more. I am surprised what my 270B will lift. The thumb adds a bit of capability to the machine. I wouldn’t hesitate to buy from them again. Thanks for taking the time to write a great review!
Nice video -- I just ordered my first tractor (2038R) and had really gone back and forth about getting the backhoe, but ultimately decided to go ahead and get it. Pretty sure I'll be getting a thumb for it at some point.
Congratulations on your purchase. I absolutely love my machine. As for the backhoe, it is an expensive attachment but so useful. The thumb is handy for sure and with the bexpanded one, I am able to stay on the seat and adjust it. Certainly not as handy as a hydraulic version but seems appropriate for this machine. Good luck with your new Deere!
How timely!!! I was looking at ordering the BXpanded thumb, ripper, and quickchange bucket adpt. Curious how well this fits. Oh, PS, I have the 'factory' thumb, and both tooth bars are bent out. Six years of use, so no tears shed, but this BX looks MUCH MUCH better designed! Wish it wasn't back ordered so long! Maybe, BX will let me do a deposit and pay balance when they have everything ready to ship...
I found it fits very well. If I have one concern it would be if it gets in the way when I am digging. I will try to remember to report back to you once I do that. I will also say that I agree that the BX is “overbuilt” and your problems with bending should be solved.
I think BX has to switch over to a CNC machine and push them out like crazy . .. it seems they make them as they get paid . . . someday they will realize that if they make 10 or so in inventory they will sell them same day . .but again if your in your basement and making 1 every 8 weeks at least you can boil a can of chicken soup in basement and get to tinker around .. .
Were both of your bolts same size my were and the one going to the thumb was too short to get a nut on I have emailed but it's the holidays. Took 3 months to get it and now can't mount it.

You will love it. Another advantage is that it keeps the hoe from sagging when it is off the tractor and not in use.

Steve, last night I tried a little digging and with the thumb fully retracted, it wasn.t an issue.

That is a major bummer. I will go see but I seem to recall one being longer.
