Yet another banger from the most underrated channel around. This game is so strange and I had no clue it existed before this. A fighting game point n click adventure hybrid is nothing I’ve ever conceived before, and I’m not sure we’ll ever see another like it.
Sometimes you name your videos that only gives us off a vague idea as to what it might actually be about.. but not this one. This was Frankenstein: Tournament Edition.
Very cool video. Happy Halloween. Love the presentation. I always liked the emotional driven tortured creature that dr Frankenstein has created. If Frankenstein is the modern day prometheus his monster is a flaming eagle he kept poking with by "birthing" it and his attempt to kill it. I like this Frankenstein’s monster purple robe. The thought Victor's wife living with Frankenstein’s monster after being disgusted by Victor's ungodly practices puts and unwittingly becoming one seems interesting. Also I like to think Victor Frankenstein would have fallen to an even deeper insanity and obsession due to being jealous of the monster(and creates a Frankenstein's army to hunt his monster and his wife)
Was eating my lunch while playing this video. You owe me a new yogurt cup after dropping it onto the floor from my laughter at seeing that life bar pop up at the beginning. In all seriousness another banger video. I’ve actually been showing a couple buddies of mine your content and everyone I’ve shown them too has been loving them. A friend of mine was watching the whole Diehard game fan documentary with his jaw wide open for half the running time. Can’t wait for the algorithm to hit. Just hope it happens soon 🙏
If I had a nickel for each 1990's adventure game with fighting game mechanichs I knew of before this video, I would have 2 pennies. Which ain't a lot but it's surprising it hapened twice. Didn't knew I needed a Robert DeNiro VS Kenneth Brannag fighting game... That's probably the only Kenneth Brannag video game period. The fact Psygnosis did an adventure game feels so wild, especially one with a fighting game engine in it.
Psygnosis were pretty mammoth. There were several adventure games released under their banner including Silverload, Sentient, Discworld, Chrono Quest, City of Lost Children and probably a few more. It would be more surprising if they never actually released any.
The Sega CD and Game Gear versions were the only ones I left out, actually. I was just too exhausted from playing 7 or 8 other games and couldn't be bothered lol
thats so funny you mention actraiser as a surprisingly breezy game bc rn im playing a translation w the original japanese difficulty and its feels like exactly what you said abt older games padding out the runtime by making the game difficult. did you play the american localization? i heard they made the game easier for english audiences, wondering if i should try that version lol
Oh yeah I played the USA version of the game. Didn't know there was a rebalancing outside of Japan. Sometimes I wonder if stuff like that was devs being condescending to non-Japanese players, or a legitimate admission that the game was initially tuned wrong
15:46 yo that animation is really good. Glad i get to see these interesting games without having to play them
This game has some surprisingly nice visuals in places

Super Frankenstein Turbo: The Final Challengers
represents genuine bravery to swing at this thing exclusively from the POV of the book & not the film it is nominally an actual adaptation of
I just want a real Frankenstein game
Fun fact! Michael Gira of Swans absolutely adores Bram Stoker's Dracula and it seems to be his favourite movie.

I'm glad you enjoyed! Im also a big fan of the original novel, thanks for sharing your thoughts

@@aaronmarko I forgot they published the Discoworld and City of Lost Children games.
I tried all 3 when I was building my retro collection and none of them passed my standard test to stay in the roms folder.
Absolutely reasonable
now I can only hope you talk about the OST of that Bram Stoker's Dracula game sometime, lol
Taigen did do a video on all the Bram Stoker's Dracula games, might have done then: ruclips.net/video/xypmxjdi1qU/видео.htmlsi=pSPy9pcApfJCq9Nu

I very nearly bought this game bitd. Had the Toys R Us ticket in the checkout line but changed my mind. I don't regret that choice.
I mean, it's not terrrrrrible. But good choice
Hoi, this is honestly one of the weirdest games I’ve seen in a bit.

Is this the competitive e-sports FPS title based on Mary Shelly's Frankenstein
Oh it's a fighting game. Silly me.
I want the Frankenshooter now
How do you find this games dude? Lol. Love your videos!
