A solid, reasoned, and layered analysis. Ever since COVID there has been a huge influx of ‘investors’ and ‘shops’ pop up. If only you released this video back then maybe more of these failed shops would have had more of a structure and still be around. Ever since I have been collecting, people have been selling hits, trading etc to make money or trade up. That was the norm and balanced well in the community. Nowadays people seem to demand a title or label for doing this… ‘business owner’, ‘streamer’, ‘breaker’. This seems to have created a new toxic focus amongst some…. ‘I’m better than the next person, buy from me’. This is just competitive marketing I guess but injects a layer of extra toxicity to the hobby. Scalp, pump, dump seems to be a mantra for many. What are your views on the evolution of the hobby in relation to the COVID boom and the added toxicity it has brought 😅
Appreciate the comment Dave, things have changed tons and I think the toxic aspect is just inflated from what it was like prior. Opportunists enter hobbies and change things, I'll do a video on it I think. There are pros and cons to it all, the added exposure definitely helped selling aspect of it
I honestly believe that the bigwigs at wotc, the decision makers want the game pieces to be cheap so the game is accessible to the most people so they actively work towards destroying value. Ill stuck to FAB
