Honestly, all I want from giants is engine upgrades and capabilities for more in depth gameplay, the modding community is so killer as long as they provide the platform it seems the community will take care of the rest. And yes, I acknowledge I say this as a privileged PC player.
@@nfsfanAndrew if you watched the video you’d see that the in game gps (while a major improvement) is vastly different from the customization course play allows
I'm not done with fs 22 yet, but it will be great to play fs 25 one day, I think the weather and light effects are amazing, the growth stages of the animals are something that are missing very much in the other games
My first was FS19. It was free on the Epic store and I said, "Eh I'm bored, why not?" Tornados in video games are fairly rare; in that respect, it's interesting they've put them in. As someone living in Texas, I am not at all excited to see them coming to my relaxing farming game because spring is just constant anxiety for me already. I'll probably end up sticking to European and Asian maps.
FS15 was my first. Looking forward for 25. And I'm going to get on a tractor and drive into a twister. That's going to be fun. And they need cats. Every farm I know of has cats.
I’m looking forward to ploughing and harvesting a field manually using GPS mode without missing any of the ground. Oh it was painful before. As your driver would drift left across the field.
One minor detail I hope they change is the moon cycle. I'm tired of seeing a full moon every night, so far from what I'm seeing, they seem to have upgraded a lot the lighting system.
Looks like physics are still lacking. The vehicles somehow are still not interacting with the terrain. I think they should have implemented proper terrain deformation like in Snow Runner. There is some of it but it looks bad. In some demo video I see that it is still impossible to have micro adjustments on the steering wheel while going down a road. Driving on roads was very painful on FS22 (console) and it looks like it still is. I Put over 600h into FS22 but at the end I felt like I was just working not playing. I tried to add more stuff, more crops but after you try a new crop once it gets old very quick. Driving vehicles feels artificial like I explained above and so it becomes boring. To be honest Giants has accumulated quite some cash with this series and could have done more. More real life farming stuff like give the character a proper life with energy levels and ways of having to deal with that such as by sleeping, cooking and other stuff. Add pastimes such as fishing maybe hunting. I know I am asking for a lot but they have the cash to do a bit more. It seems to me that now they are just milking this cow forever with basic graphic improvements.
I started really late in FS15 about 6 months before FS17, fell in love with the game, FS17 was my favorite and FS25 by far exceeds what I thought we would get very happy for FS25
They should add wildlife management. Like growing crops for hunting purposes. Also ponds that you can stock with fish. They could give give you the option to hunt / fish yourself or lease to AI hunters / fisherman. That would be so rad.
When Giants releases a new version of FS, they are always a generation or better behind currently gaming technology. In 22 everything progressed a forward, but the clouds went backwards. Without seeing or using 25, it appears to moved further forward than what 25 did. What I really liked to have seen an advancement in is the way mods are seen by the game when it loads, mods department has hardly changed at all in the way that they are handled.
To this day I cannot stand howlittle dirty the tires get, it makes zero sense that when running on dirt roads the tires are still clean and plastic, I would really hope they would improve on that.
My first FS game was FS19. I was rather unsure about the game at first but it has grown on me. Now I’m super excited for FS25. I am a little disappointed about the base game GPS as well. It is a little too early to judge the game. There may be more surprises ahead. Great video, Scroft.
Thanks for this, I was hoping someone would do this. I'm honestly more excited about the light blending and new animals than I am about the gps and tornadoes 😅
I first started to play the game with FS 13 on the playstation 3 and now I have just purchased a playstation 5 ready for FS 25. Can't wait to start playing the game as the visuals look so realistic. I hope to see some vintage tractors and equipment as that is my play style. Thank you Scroft for keeping us updated.
For the money you spent on that console you could've got yourself a great little gaming PC and had a whole new world of farming opened up to you. Can still use a PS5/ Xbox style controller. Hell the controller I'm using is Xbox S/X controller lol
Some of the things also make you excited for what modders could do. If there are now weather events in the game, that means there is potentially a mechanism for adding in more of them. Maybe flooding. Or drought. Maybe not even a stretch to imagine something about insects etc. I think the new game looks pretty damned cool. I am really looking forward to having some buffalo.
I’m hoping with now having baby animals, I hope that with cows you can separate the younger stock from the older stock, say you had some calves that were four months old I hope that you can remove them from the group of old cows then you can put them in a different shed and keep them there until they are old enough to go into the original pen again I hope you understand ahahaha
4:06 i still think that even with the improved graphics that I'm seeing for FS25 that Giants is still WAAAY behind the times compared to other games. It's not like they're new to this, they've been at it a while. But there's other games out there, like war games that i see clips of on RUclips, where it very much looks real as hell! I can't tell you how many times I've been fooled by some war game video that i thought was footage from Isreal. GTA5 even has better graphics and game play interaction. I think my 70y/o mothers main complaint is the fact that the animals don't interact to you when you go in a pen the way most animals do. The only action from the animals is deer and birds that split when you show up. (Still think AlienJim needs to add herds of Bigfoot to No Man's Land, that howl is already in there 🤣🤣) They really should be pushing for superb VR setup. That would be epic! But it's still my game, my squeeze, addiction, whatever you wanna call it. It's my happy place, my home life is shit except for my kids. I get my ass kicked 50-60 hours a week at work, nothing relaxes me like cracking open an ice cold Rainier or PBR, putting in my ear buds, turning on some good music or a podcast, firing up the game and farming my heart away for an hour or two before i need to go to bed. So I'm not exactly complaining, but I'm not-not complaining. I can't really complain for as much as I've played it. Steam says I've got 12,500 hours of game play logged. But at least 1/3 of that is from it being paused while I'm at work. Prolly should stop doing that lol
@conorking3579 my mom complains about the same thing. She can't drive in cab cuz it messes with her eyes and brain. I mostly drive in cab. But when I play, I play as realistic as possible (within reason, i still cheat with autoload bale trailers etc) we play completely different styles. We do our Multi-player thing every Saturday night, the rest of the time I do my thing on my own. I just wish that giants could team up with the makers of GTA5 and make a much better game experience RockStar has nothing to lose as Farming Simulator is a very popular game
I live in Tornado Alley in the US, and I'll be REALLY mad if they make them happen all the time. I'm 59 years old and I have NEVER seen one in real life. EVER. Not even so much as a funnel cloud. Even though my state averages 42 of them a year. They're still rare, and they're very random. My mother-in-law was 83 years old before she saw her first (and only) one IRL. If they happen as frequently as rain and hail, then they completely missed the mark.
One of the biggest let downs is no improvement in physics. There have been big issue for a long time in wood, bale and pallet physics along with trailer and equipment issues like dolly trailers sliding around, trailers pulling tractors to the left and right randomly while at high speed occasionally dependent on the combination and weight in the trailer, parts of equipment sinking int the ground on disconnect like hitch jacks. It needs a lot of work and the new pricing is far too high for such small improvements.
Not really important, but something I think is being overlooked a little is, in the FS25: Riverbend Springs - Map Presentation (FarmCon) around the 19:25 mark, they mention small production units (carpentry and cheese talked about). Make me think we are getting a base game version of OmaTana's Yard Production Pack.
Giants have opened up a whole new world for modders now and yes the game is good but modders make it impressive many many thanks I would like to see frost on the ground some areas hard frost where you cant get plow into ground etc 😮
I agree with the gps. It’s way too simplified. Giants dropped the ball with seasons in fs22. Now they drop it again. I get it that they cater to newbies but realistic players are also customers. Some of us for more then a decade. Everything else I do like.
I still play FS15. 😂😂😂 Though, I'm currently playing FS19 with Seasons and Precision Farming, and while I like FS22, I think FS19 with those two mods is by far the most realistic experience on PlayStation.
I started off in later FS15. Loved the game. Favourite version is FS19. I played FS22 for a while, but got bored with it. I am looking forward to this version, it looks very interesting 🙂
I started with fs 2009 and I own al the fs games till then with complet dlc until fs19 in fs 22 I am missing some becouse I don't think they are worth my money.
Scroft, I did say that the fourth one from the bottom looks like peas, in your second video of FS25 the one about the special edition, so I guess I was right after all. I thought it was a waste of time looking at the CGI videos the game is never like what it shows in those. Individual droplets of water dropping off the tractor? No chance! I can only dream of seagulls following the plough and the seeder? I don't think I'll see anything like that in my time. I have a strange fear that the fog is there to cover up the field of distance issues that they probably might have, I still haven't heard about an off switch for the Tornadoes, it's nice to hear that Oxy's going to try and get rid of them on his maps. But all the other maps are probably going to be useless to me if there is no off switch. Maybe someone could make a No-Tornado mode! I don't see myself making many Paddy fields if any, I wish they would have concentrated more on things like IC I don't really see anything for the UK PC user I'll be just grateful if the bogie trailers don't start moving off on their own.
I started with FS15 on Xbox, although I played FS14, 16 and 18 on mobile, too. I might have gone back and downloaded the older ones on Steam, but without opening it, I can't be sure. I think FS19 and 22 the sky took a major leap backwards, especially in 22. There's just something wrong about it. Graphics have moved so far beyond what they're doing. I mean, the opening sequences have the realism with the characters, but we still have 2D trees? I know trees can destroy a game's FPS, but come on! They also need to improve sunrise/sunset times. The sun sets a little too late in autumn (at least for where I live), and rises a little too late in winter. Also, a dynamic moon would be great, so that it isn't always full.
I've pre order it IAM on ps5 IAM England so I would like to see more traffic.like if u was drive down a single road in England run into garbage truck or even even a bus more wildlife like pheasants foxes deers or deer farming or simple bird nests in trees or owls graphics are good but for three years think they definitely could of done more like interactive with screens inside tractors, trailers etc

That do not ground themselves on a rock or a tree that they could have avoided a dozen different ways or can turn around without crashing into each other. Helper trucks and tractors that can unload a harvester as it moves around the field. I care about more function for helpers like gathering straw and hay, or cleaning up stables/pens, visually delivering resources from place to place instead of "magically transporting". More emphasis on functionality (control) and less emphasis on fog/shadows/tire-tracks window dressing. If you want to do something with weather then make it affect gameplay more often . . . uncovered hay will rot, uncovered machines will take damage, crops will flood out. With what I see so far there is ZERO chance I will preorder FS25.

Indeed! I won't even be buying FS25 until my favorite mods are out. It isn't the same game for me without AutoDrive and CoursePlay...at the minimum.
