I was driving and listening. Now that I'm home, I'm gonna watch this again to see your electric fence set down low. Quite interested in that actually. Been thinking of getting a solar one (pulse drizzle as all my friends call theirs)

That electric fence has kept my garden safe for two years! We love it! We are hoping the down low setup keeps the girls safe from four legged predators. Gonna be putting up netting for the aerial ones! Jason told you about getting two weasels in the lumber shed didn’t he??

It is chilly. So far the dogs have behaved but I’m sure they will hit that fence soon enough. 😉

    Hi Jason n Jen,
That’s called living and learning Jason, we
get into a hurry and don’t get things done right!
So we learn to slow down and do it right the first
time. I think! 😂. Well most of the time we do, lol
It’s looking so nice clearing all that stuff out to put
a fence up. So is this your front yard? And all your
buildings, chicken house, garden and huge “gonna
be” barn in your back yard? It’s confusing when you
show the drone shots on what’s front n back, or
for me anyways 🙄 imagine that!! Lol
Hope how soon it get warm enough and dry
Enough for y’all to do stuff you’re wanting to do.
And your girls are truly beautiful little ladies, and Rex
Is mighty handsome. Sure hate cause your dogs
are not get it yet, but they will. Yeah one bite
from that fence and they’ll be good, poor babies.
It’s all it took for ours years ago too, lol
You guys have an awesome rest of the week
and I’ll catch in your next video,
Be safe, and God Bless ❤

      Hi Pam!!
Need to get better at the slowing down part. We still forget we aren’t on a time clock…if you’d like I can send some pics to your email so you can get our layout of the property figured out better! Just let me know. We are getting out more and more. Still a lot to do but it will all happen in time. We hate that the dogs will get zapped but they have to learn to stay away. Don’t want them to have to stay in because the chickens are in their run.
Have a great week and God bless!♥️🙏♥️

Thats a good-looking chicken fence and i really like your dual slot compost setup. That looks very efficient.

Gonna get my sweet corn bed around. I usually plant 1st week of May down state. And 1 st week of June in central U.P. of MI. A few inches of snow really helped last year down state. It's only 2nd year U.P. sweet corn did better. Because wasn't much rain beginning of summer. I have some astronomy domine that been planting for 8 years now. Nice to see some drought genes in the corn last year. Never had drought to see those genes expressed. The astronomy domine was an open pollination cross of 34 types of heirloom sweet corn. There's probable some genetics that will grow for you. And does not get done all at once. So less chances of animals getting it all.

We did really well with corn in 2022. It was a pretty dry summer. Lots of watering. Last year a lot failed. The whole month of June was rain (hard rain) except maybe 3-4 days. Only watered once all summer. We don’t plant here till 1st week of June. Tried some tomatoes a few weeks early one year and the frost got them bad! 😊

Ol;de Maine saying since it's still chilly: " Big difference between the first day of Spring...and, the first spring day".
Boy it is chilly even here in Cape Rosier. You guys live tough. Impressive.

Great saying…and true!😂 The wind has been bringing the temps down almost 10° here. Winds are dying down now but will pick back up tomorrow night into Thursday. Weather changes quite quickly around here!😉

    Lasagna sounds good.
Hey, are you aware that you can buy your own propane tanks? If you own the tanks the gas price is a LOT cheaper. Don't buy tanks from DR though, they're high priced. They will fill customer owned tanks. I've got a guy who's sold me a few tanks over the years and he's always been the cheapest by far.
