Our favorite dive spot has to be the Red Sea in Egypt… it offers so much life and diversity and keeps giving and giving and giving - wrecks, flowers, fish, sharks etc… Thanks again James for a first class RUclips channel and for the selfie in the Philippines last year.. 😊🎉
I never get bored diving on Kenya’s coast! Mombasa, Diani and Wasini have beautiful, untouched reefs, sharks, turtles, rays, and whales… what more could you want?
I absolutely love diving Bonaire! Shore diving is addictive and the views are absolutely breathtaking! Also- for divers that the movement of boat doesn’t sit well with you- you don’t have that issue! The other great aspect about Bonaire is that it’s outside the hurricane belt so that issue isn’t an issue!
Have not yet been able to dive in the ocean till this coming spring. Only been diving lakes, quarries and rivers. Norfork lake in mountain home has been the best so far.
Diving in Puerto galera Philippines Simply beautiful with all levels and styles of diving Haven't used a watch type computer for years Uwatec for ten years air z but simply Shearwater seems to be the way forward
Zenobia wreck dive, Larnaca, Cyprus. I believe minimum is Advanced Open Water. Make sure you are at least deep and wreck certified to see most of it (lots of corridors); sidemount and one step of your chosen decompression ladder to explore all of the nooks and crannies. Even if you are a beginner Advanced Open Water, it still has plenty to see... and may even make you hungry for more training.
I’ve owned many computers since the early 90’s and never found the perfect computer until now! The Shearwater Perdix is the computer for me. I was a tech diver until I turned 70 and decided to stay shallower. It serves me well. My favorite dive location is the Philippines. Love the location. Living on Bonaire, that says a lot. Thanks for the series. Love your attitude and straightforward approach.
100% all around the Red Sea. Both for the incredible marine life, stunning reefs, but just as importantly the genuinely warm friendly & caring local Egyptians, who are so cool to hang with
I have been a divemaster since August 1990. Of all the places I have had the opportunity to dive, my best location I have been to was in Indonesia. I stayed at the Siladen resort and had wonderful dives every day. I love my Petrel 3 dive computer.
Mexicooooo! Love diving cozumel and cenotes on the yucatan! Now get on up here to the great lakes for some nice cold diving! Love the content as always, and I share your fanboyism for Shearwater all the way. Thanks again - a loyal Canadian follower
Still using my air integrated Suunto Cobra console computer. Never going to forget it as attached to the reg, only need to change batteries every 1-2 years, big enough screen and, oddly I manage to remember to check it every few minutes.
My favourite dives have been on Guadeloupe, diving in the warm Carribean waters with only a shorty and only 2 pounds of lead was just amazing. Still new to the whole diving though so favourite spot still changes every few months 😅 One comparison you could have added in this video: What about the long battery life dive computers like the Cressi Neon? They look like old Quartz watches pre smartwatch era and the batteries go on for years. How do they compare to fancier and more expensive computers? In terms of functonality they still cover the recreational basics including Nitrox.
I relatively new diving so I don't have a whole lot of dives in yet but so far favorite dive spot has probably been either Bonne Terre Mine or Table Rock Lake.
Without a doubt, my favorite dive location is the one I'm diving at the moment that you ask, wherever that may be! We are fortunate to have a great variety of dive spots and so it is tough to pick one as a favorite! I'm based on the East Coast United States and so, if pressed, I'm picking a local dive: The U853 off Block Island is not only a great wreck to dive, but it represents a piece of the nation's history, and it surprises my non-diving friends to learn that U-Boats came so close to the shores of the US.
I've done most of my diving in the Puget Sound and all of my diving in the US, so I'll have to say the St. Lawrence River in NY is my favorite, but the Mid-Atlantic region has some great diving and I really want to dive Chuuk.
I just wrapped up my third dive trip to Roatan, Honduras, and again absolutely loved the diving there - and my Peregrine performed perfectly -- 13 dives and maybe 85 percent battery life left. I bring the charger with me on my dive trips, but have yet to need it.
My favourite dive destination is Vanuatu. Nice warm water, great visibility, and it was the first place I ever dived, so it will always be special for me.
I’m a newly certified diver (this year) and being in the military it’s kind of tough to travel to places they don’t want you to go to. But night diving in Murner See (Germany) was an absolutely breathtaking experience.
Favourite destination so far is Aliwal Shoal just south of Durban, South Africa. Honourable mention is Fish Rock off South West Rocks, NSW Australia. Both outstanding destinations that never seem to fail to not disappoint. Dream destination is Sipidan and some of the lesser known areas in Malaysia. Only ever heard good things about Malaysia!
James, Great video as always. I thought the technical snorkeling was funny (I call it advanced snorkeling -- may change it.) I have been using my Sherwater Perdix AI for since April 2019. I love it. A few of my dream places are: Antarctica, Silfra Iceland, Palau..... been teaching since 1984.
As very new diver I dove only in Mexico (Pacific coast and Caribbean) and Turkey so far, plan to dive in Red Sea. However Cozumel, where I did my Open Water is my favourite place so far.
Excited for the new series! Have been diving a Tern for the past couple months and loving it so far. Favorite destination is the Yucatan for cenote diving, which thus far has been my absolute favorite style of diving. For blue water, I'll give a nod to north Fiji in the Vitu-i-Ra Conservation Park!
With limited dive experience, I have only really done drift diving off the coast of Florida so limited "favorite" dive sites to choose from. However, I really would like to get into cold freshwater diving in the Great Lakes. I'm fascinated by the wrecks that are immaculately preserved in the deep water.
Haven't been to very many dive destinations, however my recent trip to the Small Perhentian Island in Malaysia was phenomenal. There are still dozens of sites there waiting to be explored.
Dream destination for me has to be Alor Archipelago in East Nusa Tenggara, Indonesia! Clear vision up to 30+ m, healthy coral reefs, and the abundance of marine life! Definitely on the bucket list 😄
The "simply the best" liveaboard route in the Red Sea has given me the best diving experiences I could ever imagine. Aliwal Shoal in South Africa is a close second. Cheers and thank you for the awesome content. Greetings from Cyprus
Favourite dive destination? Pre typhoon and Covid would have been Moalboal Philippines. You had the distinction of a wicked wall and guaranteed sardines, possibility of whale sharks, pescador island and some really cool sites, coupled with an amazing dive shop and manager/staff at Cebu Dive Center (RIP CDC). But like everything in life, it moves on
My favorite dive destination is Egypt, close enough for a short haul flight from the uk, it has wrecks, reefs, and both shore and liveaboard options! Great video James. Congratulations on the ShearWater Colab, looking at getting a Shearwater myself, it’s a fantastic bit of kit from what I’ve heard
I’m new so my limited experiences have been in Vortex Springs Fla. I’m really looking forward to an upcoming trip to Cayman Brach next season. The first kit priority I made (after the fins and mask) was Shearwater’s Peregrine TX and Swift transmitter. My eyes like the bigger screen and the level of tech spoils you immediately! It’s just beautifully designed. It was your idea actually James so I hope they appreciate you.
I’m a UK diver and still love the UK as a dive destination! Sure the water is a bit cooler and the viz not always great but don’t underestimate just how much life there is in the seas that surround our Island. As well as the marine life there are a Myriad of wrecks to explore that date back over 100’s of years. Yes, diving the Zen this year was cool but the UK is my home turf with plenty of exciting dive sites to explore! PS bright, clear dive computer screens are also really useful in limited viz not just poor eyesight 😂
Favorite dive location is definitely Cozumel. Granted, we haven’t done a whole lot of travel outside the US and the Caribbean, but I sure do love Cozumel’s diving.
Giving my new Garmin Mk3i its first dive. Been wearing it as my daily for a month. It’s 51mm and to me, looks ridiculously large. But I can see it. Still use my Oceanic console as backup
I started diving only this year, still don't have gear and continuing my journey with BSAC. Thanks for the reviews and opinions. I have compiled a "Christmas" list (possibly next Christmas), and I would want to buy The Shearwater Perdix as one of the medium-term things. I immediately liked the vibration mode (Gus from Dive Talk mentioned that) + multiple-cylinder connectivity, which is suitable for long-term investment. My main reason for learning to dive is to explore marine flora and fauna; I hope to scuba with seals in the Farne Isles and basking whales in Scotland next year if I can.
Turks and Caicos hands down. Everything passes by when migrating through the Winward Passage: humpbacks, whalesharks, oceanic mantas, most species of shark and the walls are amazing.
James, congrats on catching Shearwater's eyes. IMO, they're one of the best companies, with the best customer service, in the industry. Even though I still do not have a Shearwater computer, I am very much looking forward to my next upgrade... Just through my second-hand experience, through my regular group of dive buddies, I have witnessed the customer service support provided by SW... Amazing, based on what I have seen. I currently dive the Luna with AI (for the past 10 years), and have never had issues, but it's HUGE on my wrist... Whenever my current DC dies, or exhibits issues, I'm going SW for sure. (And when my bank acct will allow me... Hey, dive-travel ain't cheap! Hahahaha)
USS SPEIGEL GROVE one of the best dive sites to visit! hands down! right here in Florida too! you can dive this wreck 1000 times and always see something different
Has to be Leuben gravel pit in Dresden, Germany. I got certified there and froze my ass off in early May. It taught me that anything beyond 3m was awesome vis and about a week after my certification they recovered a body from it. 10/10 would dive again!
Well was raised in Oz so Great Barrier Reef but have been located in Europe and Diving a lot in Sardinia, which is my go to place and my favorite place to dive .
I'm a new diver and slowly purchasing gear. The computer is the last piece that I need. I love the Teric but it was too expensive and techy for me. And when the Peregrine and Tern TXs came out, I thought this is perfect. However, two features on another computer intrigued me. The Ratio Dive Computer has a rechargeable Transmitter and an optional O2 sensor attachment (which plugs into the computer and adds it to the dive plan). If the Tern and Peregrine had these features, it would be the icing on the cake. I need more dives before determining a favorite destination. But Devil's Den was beautiful.
Only just started my dive journey, so guess my dream site is pretty much anywhere! But I do love the warm Mediterranean seas, would love to dive anywhere there.
I love diving Roatan, but the Spiegel Grove in south FL is my favorite site.

Hard to choose a favorite dive destination, but for me Kauai is special. I know I’m a bit of an outlier on this. Coral reef is not spectacular, but the variety of large and small critters, many endemic, is very cool. And then after the dive, well, you’re still in Hawaii!
The best dive I have had (so far) was the Shark Arena off Mauritius. Challenging negative entry, an interesting route into the Arena, and the wonderful experience of ~30 reef sharks chilling out in the heavily aerated wash zone. The fact that we were "intercepted" by the sharks on the arena exit (not seen by the guides before), allowing for even more time viewing them (admittedly with some anxiety of gas consumption) just put the cherry on the icing on the cake :)
My favourite destination is Lake Vierwaldstättersee! (And I’ve been a proud owner of the Shearwater Perdix 2 computer for years, thanks to your channel!)
Perfectly timed video as I’m looking to buy a new dive computer and the Shearwater Peregrine TX is currently top of my list for the screen size and air integration - Apple Ultra is my current computer and works really well so can appreciate the form factor and dual use but a bigger screen seems appealing. Favourite dive destination from past few years is Gozo, yes I know it’s not tropical, nor teeming with large marine life, but love the variety of diving on offer.
My favorite dive so far has been the USS Oriskany in Pensacola, Florida. Love your content, James! Keep it comin’! Dive safe, dive often! Nate from Destin, Florida.
Our favorite dive spot has to be the Red Sea in Egypt… it offers so much life and diversity and keeps giving and giving and giving - wrecks, flowers, fish, sharks etc…
Thanks again James for a first class RUclips channel and for the selfie in the Philippines last year.. 😊🎉
The Red Sea - offers almost everything close to each other on a single trip. Can’t wait to go back there again.!
Has to be the Andamans... Will always be my first love
My favourite destination still is Egypte. Favourite location….Elba reef! Simply wonderful!
I just visited the Red Sea and I have to say the SS Thislegorm was an awesome dive. One of my best.
Newly certified as an open water diver but my vote would be Roatan/Utila, Honduras. Lots to see in clear water in a wonderful location.
My son and I are fairly new divers (50 dives each) but our favorite spot so far is Bonaire. You can dive at your own pace and as much as you want.
My favourite dive site so far is in St. Ann Jamaica. Still looking forward to more dives

Favorite for being all about diving is Coco View in Roatan. Favorite for wrecks is North Carolina and Florida. Dream destination is Truk
100% all around the Red Sea. Both for the incredible marine life, stunning reefs, but just as importantly the genuinely warm friendly & caring local Egyptians, who are so cool to hang with

I relatively new diving so I don't have a whole lot of dives in yet but so far favorite dive spot has probably been either Bonne Terre Mine or Table Rock Lake.
Cozumel is my go-to dive site. Three hours from the house to the water. BonneTerre Mine is probably my favorite spot.

Gotta shoutout Kona. The manta night dive puts it high on the list alone, but the reefs and option to shore dive really puts it over the top for me
I just wrapped up my third dive trip to Roatan, Honduras, and again absolutely loved the diving there - and my Peregrine performed perfectly -- 13 dives and maybe 85 percent battery life left. I bring the charger with me on my dive trips, but have yet to need it.
My favorite is Cozumel: good value in travel, food, and dives; island culture; and cenotes nearby.
Now Saltstraumen in Bodö, Norway is my favorite. Only cold water diving for me now
My favourite dive destination is Vanuatu. Nice warm water, great visibility, and it was the first place I ever dived, so it will always be special for me.

Getting ready to do my favorite dives off west palm beach and will be trying my perdix 2 for the first time
Love diving in Mauritius. Warm waters, clear water. Dives for every levels
New to diving so my only experience is Oahu. Beautiful location and nice clear water. Researching dive gear and like your detailed reviews.
So far it has to be the Maldives - Central Atolls. Best dive site has to be Maaya Thila (at night!)
I'm from the Mediterranean Sea, and I've only been out of herre in a trip to the Red Sea, so The Red Sea is my favourite, by now...
I've not dived in a huge number of places, but I was lucky enough to go to the Maldives on honeymoon. That's my favourite place to dive.
As very new diver I dove only in Mexico (Pacific coast and Caribbean) and Turkey so far, plan to dive in Red Sea. However Cozumel, where I did my Open Water is my favourite place so far.

Just getting started in my scuba adventures... but Roatan has been great.
Haven't been to very many dive destinations, however my recent trip to the Small Perhentian Island in Malaysia was phenomenal. There are still dozens of sites there waiting to be explored.
current favorite dive location is local: the PNW. dream locations are the caves (mexico, florida, sardinia, etc) and the poles.
Scapa Flow! I did it as a newly qualified diver a few years ago and I'd love to do it again having gained a lot more experience!
Dream destination for me has to be Alor Archipelago in East Nusa Tenggara, Indonesia! Clear vision up to 30+ m, healthy coral reefs, and the abundance of marine life! Definitely on the bucket list 😄

Just done my first trip to the Great Barrier Reef and it's now definitely my favourite dive location!
Favourite dive destination. Although I currently live on Bonaire, my favourite destination is Sipadan.I was there when you could stay on the island.

Definitely SS Thistlegorm, Red Sea, Egypt, my next dream destination for a dip!
My dream dive destinations at the moment has got to be the SS Yongala and Ex-HMAS Brisbane in QLD. Massive wrecks with so much history
Don’t forget HMAS Tobruk midway between those 2! Was just at the Brissie last weekend such a great dive site.
Great content, thanks so much!! My favorite dive this year was Bonaire.
Deleted comment under yours, i hope you didn't get scammed!
USS SPEIGEL GROVE one of the best dive sites to visit! hands down! right here in Florida too! you can dive this wreck 1000 times and always see something different

10/10 would dive again!

Bonaire for the ease of diving, especially the oil slick leap for easy ladder entry and exit as opposed to a rocky shore entry.
Dream destinations: Cozumel or the Philippines. Planning a trip this coming year to Cozumel!
I love diving in the Puget Sound - cold water makes it challenging plus there is plenty of sea life.
Favourite dive destination: Scapa. Loads of history, interesting and challenging dives and some pretty nature too.
Hey James, my favorite dive destination is Half Moon Caye, Belize
I’m still fairly new to diving so I haven’t been to a lot of locations. But my favorite so far was Oahu, Hawaii!
Well was raised in Oz so Great Barrier Reef but have been located in Europe and Diving a lot in Sardinia, which is my go to place and my favorite place to dive .
Egypt is probably my dream diving location! But literally anywhere warm and tropical.
Key largo. Easy to get to. Great food and water temp is always welcoming.
Favorite dive destination so far is Kona, Hawaii. Admittedly there haven't been many yet.
Favorite trip was to Belize. Fantastic wall dive!
My favorite divedestination has to be Mexico. I just finished my cave training and I´d love to go there.
Denotes, Tulum & Maldives have been my favourite dive destinations so far
Best dive so far, Vandenburg!!!!!!!!!! Key West , Florida!
Deleted comment under yours, i hope you didn't get scammed!
Would love to work my way towards some deep wrecks like the Oriskany, but I'm happy getting any opportunity to dive!
My favorite dive destination is Red sea. Best dive ever if you take into account price and experience
Bali - Nusa Penida has several great spots to dive. Warm waters, drift diving, bamboo shark, mantas, mola mola, dolphins .... what's not to love.
Favorite dive destination so far: Kona. Place at the top of my list to visit: Raja Ampat.
I am an old school Jersey wreckster, still my favorite place to go!
Favourite dive destination from past few years is Gozo, yes I know it’s not tropical, nor teeming with large marine life, but love the variety of diving on offer.
favorite destination so far: Raja Ampat!!!
For sure Semporna, Malaysia! Actually any dive sites in Malaysia are my favourite!!
My favorite dive so far has been the USS Oriskany in Pensacola, Florida.
Love your content, James! Keep it comin’!
Dive safe, dive often!
Nate from Destin, Florida.
Kimud Shoal, Malapascua. The threshers were amazing.
I had my favourite dives in the very rich waters of the Oman. I highly recommend to go diving there. It is awesome!
Too many places on my wish list for diving to go into, but love diving in Roatan. Beautiful reefs.
