I just want to comment again that I did the change based off of this and bought all linked pieces. This works on the 2022 Long Track Models as well. Have to loosen up the rear engine bolts to lift the motor up enough, or at least I did. The engine oil was dark and needed a change and the reverse gear oil was HORRID. It was almost like a milkshake with lots of metal flakes, so I would 100% suck that out and replace it while doing your into 5 hour oil change. I used Mobil 1 synthetic oil for the oil and gear change. THANKS again @fishquest
Good video, about to do my first service after a few hours of use and this will be better long term than pumping it out like the dealer mentioned he does.
Thanks for the comment, it works amazing for us, we put a lot of miles and hours on our machines and change oil at least twice a season. This mod is still going strong
I considered just doing that, the reason I didn’t is that I wanted to remove majoirty of the metal shavings from the “break in” of the machine and any that may occur after. My first oil change looked like I was changing removing pixie dust when I looked closely.
Most of the dogs have their engine mountng plate upside down so there is a bar in the way and the fitting wont have room to install, the motor has to come off and flip the plate

@G H, thanks for the feedback. I’m glad to hear everything worked out for you!
Awesome video editing and is simple to follow. The audio was perfect and could here everything from a step by step process!
Hey thanks, hope it helped!
@@FishQuest You should make some snowdog ice fishing videos! Would love to see your adventures.
Thanks! Just ordered parts. Picked up snowdog today!
Welcome to the dog pack.
Great video, I will definitely do this this summer. Thanks, my first oil change was a big mess!😂
So was mine
So was mine😂, that’s why I did this.

@@FishQuest I use it for making trails on the property for the family and animals. Really been enjoying it. Parts ordered! Thanks again.
This is genius
good to know only thing I would change would be to run it to heat the oil up before draining
For sure, I think I made mention to run for 5 minutes at the 4:48 minute mark.
Awesome mod.
my dealer suggested using a siphon instead...less mess

What’s the outside diameter of your drain valve, I have one that’s 20mm
@Tou Lor, the size of drain plug that comes out of most snowdogs is a 12mm. At least that what mine was. Hoped this helped
Bought similar set up at Menards, hopefully my drain valve fits and threads match
