Shaji Chen
Shaji Chen (en.wikipedia.o...) is a renowned writer, movie actor, music and movie critic. He started his career as a Music Industry A&R Executive and later moved to advertising and then to writing. He has written more than 10 books in three languages on movies, music, and memories. He witnessed and chronicled the evolution of Indian popular music and movies, in his reviews and writings. In the last few years, he has been acting in Tamil Movies with occasional outings to Telugu and Malayalam cinema.

ஒரு சிறு கூட்டம் மனப்பாடம் செய்து அதிக மதிப்பெண் பெற்றால் அதை அறிவு என்று நம்பிக்கொண்டு இருக்கிறது. இசையை உருவாக்குபவருக்கு திறமை வேண்டும். மனப்பாடம் செய்து ஒரு இசையைப் படைக்க முடியாது என்பதை எப்போது புரிந்துகொள்ளப் போகிறீர்கள்? இதை நீங்கள் புரிந்து கொண்டால் நீங்களும் வெல்ல முடியும்.
அப்துல்கலாம், அண்ணாதுரை, சிவன் எல்லாம் தமிழர்கள் தமிழ்வழி கல்வி படித்து உலக சாதனை படைத்தவர்கள். மனப்பாடம் செய்து படித்தவர்கள் என்ன சாதனை (including IIT) செய்தார்கள்?
நீங்கள் தான் தாய் மொழிக்கே துரோகம் செய்யும் கூட்டமாச்சே, சம்ஸ்கிருதம் தான் உயர்ந்தது என்று அடுத்தவர்கள் சொல்வதை நம்பி உங்களை நீங்களே அழித்துக்கொள்கிறீர்கள். தாய் மொழியை (தமிழ் மொழியை) வெறுப்பபவர்கள் சத்தியமாக வெற்றிபெறமாட்டார்கள். மதிப்பெண் வெற்றிமூலம் அதிகாரத்தில் உட்க்கார்ந்து கொண்டு நீண்ட நாள் அந்த அதிகாரத்தை வைத்து வென்றுவிட முடியாது.

SPB sir, in an interview had said that he is pained that some of the finest composers who understand music, make.music and record it from the beginning of the composition, arranging, writing notes,..etc.etc till the finishing are either underrated and not given continuous chance in film.music. He said for example,.. Vidhyasagar, Ramesh Vinayakam and Keeravani. So That speaks a lot that if SPB sir says then this man definitely has everything in him when it comes to music composition.
This's an amazing session . No Doubt, Mr Ramesh Vinayagam is a Knowledge Tank as we have observed it many times thru his interaction in interviews. With such an immense knowledge, he certainly deserves to reach a Top Position in Music. Hearty Wishes for a Huge Success in all his Endeavours in Music. I only wish he's able to convert his vast knowledge into appealing Musical Outputs very soon. We had many such great Musicians with Vast Knowledge. But, unfortunately, only very few of them were able to convert their knowledge & wisdom into an indelible form of Music with their stamp of class. We wish him join that elite band of composers soon. I am very glad that his first love is towards our Mother Tongue Thamizh. Excellent interview by Mr Shahji. Only Suggestion is don't make it appear like a Rapid Fire Round. All the Best.

மேற்கத்திய இசை இயேசுவுக்கானதுன்னே சொன்னா எப்படி பொருந்ததாதோ அப்படியே தமிழிசையை கர்னாடக இசை என்றும் இந்திய இறைவனுக்கானது என்பதும் பொருந்தவில்லை
சரியாகச் சொன்னீர்கள். தமிழர்களுடையதை திருடி அதில் திருத்தம் செய்து கர்நாடக இசை என்று ஏமாற்றும் கூட்டம் எப்படி வெற்றி பெற முடியும் இசையில்? இது உண்மை என்றே இப்போது உள்ள அந்தச் சிறு கூட்டத்திலிருந்து வந்தவர்களுக்கே அது தெரியாது.

I spent all my life listening to “vizhigalil aruginil vaanam” and googled his name when I listened to it in 2005 first time when I was 13..was shocked later he did not receive the accolades he should have gotten
It's a good song, but not great. He is not talented composer like Rahman and Vidiyasagar
Discovering ragas is not easy. One of the beautiful director. He is unique.He has gone unnoticed for no reason. I remember a program in Jaya TV long back where SPB sir was asking Director Vasanth for not giving him a chance in next movie. If I’m a director, or producer I would go to him. Honestly he has the place in this line Ilayaraja, ARR, SAR, Vidyasagar, Bharathwaj…

The camera cuts are very annoying.If Rv is the subject just show the A camera on him when he’s talking. Audience really don’t care what or how the host is reacting. He should be on the B camera The host camera should come only when he asks a question. If they are discussing together then get the wide C Camera.Basics of a 3 camera interview
