My Wilga 2000 is almost ready for final assembly. Question: Looks in the vid like you have the flaps on the outside... servos under the wings, ailerons on the inside with servos on top of the wings. I would have thought the flaps would be closest to the body and ailerons out on the wing ends. Or am I dreaming? Great model, BTW! Thank you!

Would it work if I scale the plans down to 60-70% to make it a parkflyer, and is the xps foam the same as depron
I think it's already parkflyer and Depron is a trademark of extruded polystyrene foam (XPS)

any type of foam board will work! go to some art shop and ask around they might have it

@@linecraftman3907 so EPP foam would be OK? I can't get it in 5mm but can get it in 6mm i reckon 1mm won't make much difference?
@@madbren EPP foam is used in RC plane hobby for very different use cases, it's very light so it's mostly used for indoor acrobatic planes. For this build it will not work. EPP is expanded foam(individual balls of foam loosely held together), you want extruded foam (homogeneous rigid foam structure)
@@madbren EPP is not really considered foam board as you'd usually cut it shape from a thick slab

Why? It's really light just now, you don't really need your plane to be that light, it will fly funny and be really floaty. Sometimes more mass is better :)
@@szajba8106 , I get your point. I am an indoor builder so i tend to think always that the lower the wing load the better.
But you are correct for outdoors , heavier plane helps a lot!

Packing Tape Covering is not necessary if you are not afraid to destroy the plane

I use hot glue gorilla glue sticks they sell them at Walmart Works great check out FliteTe those guys are awesome they build and sale kits ✌️

у меня вся бальса полоски 1000x100mm. По жесткости разнесенные два квадрата с той же плоскостью сечения лучше чем сплошная полоса
I'm confused is that just Dollar tree foam board or is it something different.
That is what I used, removed the paper from one side, it ads weight.
попробуй рулевые поверхности сажать на серпянку. сразу при склейке крыла заложить ее, а потом прорезать пену и будет идеально.
Пробовал, не понравилось. Пленочные петли и проще и быстрее и врезаю в самый угол

I think it's called Adams I got mine at Walmart you can get it online at Flitetest those guys build and sale kits check them out ✌️
@@EJ-74 - Thank you for your feedback. I know the Flitetest people - they use something called "Maker foam" but it is already paper laminated .. will check at Walmart as well. Incidentally, the "brown" maker foam Flitetest people are using, Blick Art sells it under the name "Pacon water-resistant foam board" about $4 per sheet .. will also pay them a visit tomorrow. Thanks again for getting back to me.

no, UHU Por is good glue too and it available all over the world

Ура закончил. Мотор под рукой оказался 2205 (2300kV) что очень много для этого самолета, да и автор видно, что летает в пол газа. Нашел лист размером чуть менее 1 м, крыло получилось 930 мм, тем не меннее летает модель отлично и причем сразу ровно., требует минимум настроек, но как мне показалось угла наклона двигателя вниз не достаточно, при увеличении газа задирает нос, может из за очень быстрого мотора. Автор подскажите, может увеличить угол наклона или есть другие пути решения?
угол атаки крыла изначально задан очень большой (обычно 1-2°, а там аж 5°), т. к. это STOL самолет, а не пилотажка с симметричным профилем, можно выкос увеличить, можно смикшировать газ с элеватором
