These are actually directly inspired by the Osiris D3 from 2001. They were the best-selling skateboarding shoes from that era (after the lead singer of Limp Bizkit wore them at the MTV VMA's, they became instantly popular with the general public). Osiris reissued the D3 2001 recently in a variety of colorways and it's been selling really well.
The Osiris D3 (2001) is the template that Lanvin used for this sneaker. A$AP Rocky did a collab with Under Armour that also copied the D3 silhouette. Osiris still makes the D3 (both the OG and 2001 editions) and it's still one of the most iconic sneakers around.

As a Millennial I grew up with shoes like these, clearly skate shoes inspired like the iconic Osiris, ès, Etnies, DC etc i. the early 2000’s. I had Buffalo. They came after the platform shoes back in the 90’s. Back then it was quality and cost way less. But $100 was a lot at the time, compared to now. And we didn’t toe em with a bow on the front, we’d put the laces down into the shoe, or tie it behind the tongue.
I tought it looked familar. All Lavin did was use the template and added oversized laces. Which is fashion in general nothing is new under the sun
These are just Osiris shoes from 2003 to be honest .

I say go 43 or 44 depends on if u like your shoes roomie or close fitted. I wear a size 44 and went with a 43 it’s a good fit but all up to you

I went up. Imo they’ll fit way too tight if you size down. It all depends how you like the fit but a 9 will give you more room
