    What a nice format Mina. Serious, yet fun. Pro Football has needed a well produced show for decades. Clearly your guest respect you, and, stay within your format. No big overblown personality issues. Finally a fresh approach, and, alternative to the old worn out personalities that continue to kackle like old coots. Most shows depend on loud yelling, ridiculous howling, irritating over-talking, or embarrassing gimmicks. You'll never need six inch stelletos or out of place dress wear. Bravo! And of course you're a gorgeous, classy young lady. Plus! You know the game of football. Don't let the yuppie producers try to tweak your show. PLEASE!

    I keep coming back to 2 thoughts.
    1. If AD Mitchell is on the board at 24 Jerry is phoning in the pick from the yacht (we saw with the CD lamb pick sometimes he just can’t help himself…)
    2. Denver and Vegas seem like the ideal trade partners for Detroit (CB1) or Buffalo/KC (WR4) to move up with, then they sit at the back end of the first and could snag the 5th year option on a Nix/Penix.

    For Matt's edification, the reason more teams don't trade picks for proven players is the salary cap. The way you keep your cap under control is by getting productivity out of players on their first contract. As analytics tend to show that there isn't alot of difference between the good drafting teams and the bad ones in terms of hit rate, the best teams are the ones that stockpile and use those picks. You'd be better off signing players via free agency or (even better) keeping your own good players.
    Yes, there are occasions when a big and bold trade for a veteran works spectacularly well. It's usually established team that are already good thanks to using the draft correctly. The Rams trading for Matt Stafford after they were already an NFC championship caliber team, or the Eagles trading for AJ Brown after they were already really good, etc. These teams had value to spare. Most teams don't.

    Good top 10 predictions from Mina. But being that I am not much of a fan of Aaron Rodgers I hope the Jets do not end up with Bowers (or Odunze for that matter). However I'm afraid we'll need less QBs and OTs to go before 10 for that to happen. Or maybe the Falcons trade back with a team looking to draft Odunze or even Bowers.

    Some team(s) are going to look so dumb giving up a bunch of draft capital to get JJ McCarthy instead of drafting Michael Penix Jr. This is another case of the best QB in the draft going to be the 5th QB taken again just like Lamar, Russell Wilson, etc.

    It is called the Airraid not the runraid. Why are you all dismissing the Kingsbury-Longo-Maye connection? It is Peter decision and his decision only. He is going to go with a Football junkie with traditional traits. That is what he has done in the past and what he has done previously. I truly believe Maye has been the pick ever since Peters was hired. It is Peters show. That is why he came to here.

    I want your opinion, given all the analysts heaping praise on JD and also on Maye to a lesser degree, whether that means there are offers on the table for WAS #2 or there will be offers on the clock that exceed what you normally would expect from the Rich Hill chart.
    In my opinion any team that could offer Washington a fantastic haul, and drafted Daniels, the hometown headline would be how successful that GM was, not that they had given Washington the farm, and their box office would be swamped with season ticket requests.
    Every channel is talking Washington sticking and picking, but logic dictates this is not what Eugene Shen is recommending if the haul exceeds a given threshold.
    Based on all the fan furor and the analyst furor over the "elite" QBs I think it is only logical the offers in this pick-auction will be magnified. I cannot recall any draft where this phenomenon is so GREAT and so it stands to reason that the HAUL will be the greatest ever for the #2.
    I would like you to look at the Rich Hill chart and estimate in points what you think the trade threshold should be for WAS. I would also like for you to take the teams NE, MIN, and NYG and with each team say what trade offer would change your mind about WAS trading down and you would trade down for. I think this is the type of exercise we need right now because if you ever watch a cattle auction, for example, every bidder establishes in their mind what point they will drop out. If Washington is going to wait until they are on the clock they have to have a list of what they would take from each team for the #2, so that they can quickly respond yes or no.

      @skaterx999 4 месяца назад

      This analysis fails to account for several factors. For example, not every draft is the same. Therefore, missing an opportunity in this draft doesn't mean you can just shift it to next year's draft. Second, if we don't get a QB, it doesn't matter that we have a whole bunch of draft points that we can use on other positions. We'll still need a QB. Also, the clock is ticking on the timeline for coaches and other players to have success that depends on having a QB. We can't just keep kicking the can down the road building up draft value. The name of the game is not acquiring maximum draft value. It's winning games.

    When are we going to realize WR is the most overrated position? DT was the last WR that was the primary receiving target on a Super Bowl winning team. Every one since then and about 85% of the Super Bowl winners since NE won their first has had either a SR and TE as their primary receiving target. Paying a WR a top 10 salary is like NBA teams giving Uberathletic slashing point guards max contracts. It’s flashy and cool, but usually means your sitting on the couch when it’s deep into the playoffs.
