I love the movement of the colours in this wet on wet painting, the freedom of your brushstrokes. Your choice of the colours for your limited palette is so smart! I use ultramarine blue a lot together with Quinacridone sienna and Alizarin crimson in my portrait paintings. But I definitely love your choice of indigo blue. By the way, I paint a lot with your calligraphy brushes and I find them perfect for most of the subjects and styles of painting.

I'm surprised you can mash your calligraphic brush to achieve the irregular negative space on the hair without damaging (abusing) the brush. I would be hesitant to do that.
The treatment of wetting your paper continues to provide me with "aha" moments. I had been unaware of this and simply brushed water on the surface. What a revelation!
Your portraits are absolutely exquisite. Thank you for sharing your knowledge.
