Lesson learned after attempting too many times: this works best with small hairties that has not been used or stretched out yet. What creates the "wave" in the scrunchie is the effect of the crochet being longer than the actual tie itself.
@@marisacasciola7287 the shape holds well especially over time because the more u use it, the more it becomes scrunched up. Weave it securely and it holds well.
You can always open the seam, cut the old hair tie out and replace it with elastic! Just tie the ends of the elastic in a square knot and then sew it back up.
Wish the music wasn't so loud or was non existent. It makes it very difficult to hear you and takes away from the pattern. It would also help to explain the weight of the yarn and size of the hook. I would have loved to make these, they are beautiful.
All of the information is in the description as well as a link to the post with more explanation on the blog. I am sorry about the music, I used an app on my phone and it wasn't loud for me when I watched it. I plan to re-do the video as soon as I am able, but the description for the video has more details regarding everything used as well as a blog post that comes with it.
Very aesthetic. I just finished making my first one and i really like it! The size of the scrunchie is too big for me but overall I like the design and it is very easy for me. Making more in the future but I'm probably going to go down to 13 or 12 chains. I used a starlight 8 ply yarn.
I am glad you liked the pattern, the yarn weight is pretty important in this pattern especially for the size. Worsted weight will work too but will make much bigger scrunchies so less chains to begin will work out, but the look of the scrunchie will be a bit different with a heavier weight yarn.
I bought a lot of it by mistake too. But surely i dont need to make a whole room full of scrunchies now, do i? But this one is a great idea. I can at least make something out of it (instead of bookmarks, i had lots of it now. Sighs)
I lost my favourite scrunchie 😥i had loved it cuz it was hand made and cute but not silky But i found a way to make my self the kind that i want tysm 🥰
The yarn that I use is a very light weight yarn and the hook is larger than recommended for the yarn weight. If you use a thicker yarn the scrunchie will be much different than the one I have made. This works up best with light weight yarns.
Boa tarde Deus abençoe parabéns o seu trabalho lindo esse sabe cole crochê ficou lindo Eu também faço crochê abri como nunca fiz Parabéns seu trabalho é maravilhoso Deus abençoe
Love the pattern and so easy to make. Love the colors you chose for your tutorial. You have so few subs and SO many views! Keep posting videos like this and I'm sure to see you grow! Just subbed! Can't wait to see more :D
Hmmm, I wonder if somehow you are adding stitches, I would suggest using a stitch marker so that you can count the stitches to make sure you have the same number in each round. It can be easy to insert the hook and create stitches when using such small yarn.
I am really sorry about the music...as others have pointed out...and just like I have said to them, I am sorry, I used my phone to make this video and it auto adjusted the music...there is a link to a post with how I did this, but you can always turn off the music and use the captions. Honestly, it is just one stitch repeated until you reach a length, I am not really sure it is necessary to hear what I am saying.
my bobble in my scrunchie keeps stretching when i’m making my tube bigger and i haven’t got the ‘scrunchie wave’ effect, it’s just a circle. am i doing something wrong?
What size hair tie are you using? I find that the thin ones that are normally used for fine hair can stretch too much, I use the thicker ones for medium hair, they hold their shape better.
Hola Mamila, desde Bolivia muchas felicidades!!! Por favor podrías saludarla a mi suegra Tomasa López Soliz, es tu gran seguidora y le gusta mucho tus videos, está pendiente a tus nuevos videos. Gracias.
The size yarn used plays a big part too. I use a 2.75mm hook with a super fine yarn (size 1) I haven't tried this pattern using a larger hook than a 3.5mm.
It takes about an hour maybe a little more depending on which style I am doing. I can usually finish one during a kids movie. Though time may vary depending on how you crochet, I am a pretty fast crocheter.
Gracias. Continúas hasta que sientas que es una buena longitud. No cuento las filas después de la primera ronda. No sé español, utilicé Google Translate.
I just continue to do the half double crochet into the back two loops. I am working in the round around the hair tie, so the work is getting longer as I add more rows...hope that makes sense.
I think so, as long as it is a light weight yarn the pattern should work up and still have a lacy look. You may need to adjust the number of chains you start with though.
Background music is louder then your voice making it very difficult to follow
I agree
I didn’t had this problem
foreground music
On the caption
Not loving the background music too distracting

Thank you!
Just curious. How well did the scrunchie hold together?

What size (length of folded elastic) of elastic did you use that was too big, and what size is the small one that worked for you? Thanks
the music in the background is way to loud for me to concentrate on what she’s actually doing. let alone, try to actually follow along!
Oh shut up and stop complaining 😒
I turned on the captions. I'm not complaining, just giving a suggestion 😁
:/
Right?! The music is way too loud.
Such a shame, I wanted to do this
Don't be choosing beggars now

Best scrunchie design I’ve seen! Thank you so much
Thank you!

Love this! I have some leftover yarn after making a shawl and this is just what I needed
I accidentally bought yarn in a very fine weight and I didn’t know what to make with it but now I do. Great tutorial!

MsNovazz you can use a tutorial on how to turn fine yarn into bulky crochet yarn and it works like a charm !!
MsNovazz here’s the link :) ruclips.net/video/8ohGAKETf1k/видео.html
carol h ob my gosh thank you soooooo muchhh!! 🙏🙏🙏🙏🙏
MsNovazz glad i could help!!! i had the same issue 💕
Nice work and video.....but we could do without the music, too loud and distracting. Love the scrunchies!!
I'm not hearing the instructions very well, the music is pretty loud too.
(Just wanted to let you know)
making this for my mom for mother's day!
Thank you! Just made a bright pink Barbie scrunchie for my friends birthday, she'll love it :)
Thank you!
instead of using a darning needle can i use my crotcheting pin and keep slip stiching
@@NimNimDalhatu you can. I haven’t tried it but I don’t see why that wouldn’t work too.
this pattern looks so good!
Thank you :)
I lost my favourite scrunchie 😥i had loved it cuz it was hand made and cute but not silky
But i found a way to make my self the kind that i want tysm 🥰
I made one but it doesn't stretch! I used a rubber band but it could also be because of my yarn, it is a bit thick though im not sure :(

Nice job! Can't wait to try.
This looks like half double crochet? Also what yarn and hook size did you use?
It says in the description 😊

Sería fabuloso que tradugeran
Awesome video but your background music is way too loud can't hardly hear what your saying.
Why the music? You can't hear your instructions for the music! So irritating!!
Love the pattern and so easy to make. Love the colors you chose for your tutorial. You have so few subs and SO many views! Keep posting videos like this and I'm sure to see you grow! Just subbed! Can't wait to see more :D
Music too loud
Great tutorial! I’m about to make a bunch of these for last minute Christmas gifts!! 😁😁
Hi. I loved your pattern. may I use that to make products for my small business?
Yes, you can :)
@@Savlabot Thank you!
Buenos días.disculpe las letras no dejan ver el tejido.gracias.
Muy fácil tu manera de enseñar, rápido y bello resultado. Mis saludos y bendiciones para tí, desde Chile.
Very good
Perché nn italiano io nn so le lingue
It would be nice to know how many rolls you did
I don't count since it is crocheted continuously I just keep going until it seems scrunchie enough.
Just wondering how i can avoid it being so wide
Its just increasing in radius 😭HELP!!

👍🏻👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻Thank you so so much.
Wow this is a smart way to make a scrunchie without sewing I want to try this but knitted
The music is too loud, I can not even hear what you are saying. Good that there is subtitles.
I don’t know what type of yarn or hook size she used. Did anyone catch that?
I have that info in the description, there is also a link to the the pattern on my blog.
The music makes it hard to hear you, so I stopped watching.

Lower the background music

Beautiful thank you Algeria ❤❤
I loved it! Thanks for has taught. Brazil here❤🇧🇷
I hope you answer me, thanks for this cute design but can you estimate how much yarn you actually used?
Sorry, I am not exactly sure how much yarn, I will find out and let you know.
I thought you only inserted into the furthest side of the 'v' so that you're inserting into only one loop when doing back loop only (BLO)?
Mine came out so huge lol, maybe I should use a smaller hook than 4mm
The size yarn used plays a big part too. I use a 2.75mm hook with a super fine yarn (size 1) I haven't tried this pattern using a larger hook than a 3.5mm.
@@Savlabot yeah I just figured that out, I'll try a smaller one. Thanks!
Awesome 👏🏻. I learn something every day. Thank you
So your not doing a HDC in your joining chain?
Quick question, about how long does it take to finish the whole scrunchie?
Took me about 78 days - good luck to u
It takes about an hour maybe a little more depending on which style I am doing. I can usually finish one during a kids movie. Though time may vary depending on how you crochet, I am a pretty fast crocheter.

definitely abt to be up crocheting these for my girls for christmas!
Would 4ply yarn work as well? Bought a bunch of cotton 4ply

Where do you get the yarn?
