After that horrible day. It was nice to see so many people coming together to rebuild. Such is life
Something similar happened in Texas back in 1947. Makes one wonder.

Who stored 2750 metric TONS of AN at that port in Beirut and why was it there?
An irresponsible government who definitely must have had intel of the location of it so close to a residential area... no common sense or no care for what, could, when, or if it happened... my heart goes out the the people involved!!
Yup couldn't have said it better their government knew about it and what an unfit place to keep the chemicals ??? Hopefully the government learned from this some people say politics took place and was ment to happen ?
@@IvanLopez-PS_SafetySucks1 it was an accident waiting to happen... a highly volatile substance stored in a warehouse with probably no anti fire system installed in a hot dry climate, human error involved an absolute devastational accident that could have been prevented at minimal costs involved.. people who are saying politics are involved are absolutely deranged.... its about cost!!!! cost over human safety.. pretty much like chernobyl cost over safety!....
2,750 tons of Ammonium nitrate arrived in Beirut on a Russian-owned Vessel in 2013.The ship named the MV Rhosus, was destined for Mozambique but stopped in Beirut Due to financial Difficulties. Once it arrived, the ship never left Beirut port according, Lebanon Director of customs,Badri Daher said...I am assuming the Ammonium nitrate was moved from the Vessel or not.

We really cannot truly feel what the victims of Beirut Blast are going through. But we pray for Beirut. I pray everything gets normal for all of victims.
That blast must've been the equivalent of 3, 4 kilotons. About the same as the Halifax explosion of 1917.
It was a maximum 300 tonnes. Halifax was much more devestated.
Friend Wilkins it was 2750 tonnes of Ammonium nitrate AN which works out to be 2Kilotonnes of TNT - though there saying it was around 1.5KT .
@@lasarith2 2,7 KT of NH4NO3 is equivalent to 1,1 KT of TNT. However, because the explosion was most likely underground, most of it was absorbed by the ground.
Jim Sagubigula 1.1KT is the lowest 2KT is the highest conversation .
@@lasarith2 For it to be 2KT, NH4NO3 must be mixed with fuel oil to create ANFO, a different kind of explosive. We know that there was NH4NO3 in the warehouse, not ANFO. NH4NO3 cannot go this high on its own.
