- Trolling Death Jigs For Walleye
Have you seen or used a Death jig for walleye?
The Walleye Nation Creations Death Jig fits right into the slow death technique.
With the close resemblance of an ultra minnow jig head attached to a treble / slow death hook combo it’s one of a kind. But that’s not all. A small spinner is positioned behind the jig head, this spinner amused me the most. With a sensitive fishing rod you can feel the vibration of it spinning when trolling or casting.
This time I hit the water in search of fall walleye & my weapon is the death jig. I choose to slow troll these baits today, covering water close to a weed line then every once in a while go right over the weeds by just reeling up repositioning it in the water column. I didn’t have to worry about getting a bottom bouncer stuck in the thick weeds. Just glided it right over top of them plucking walleye & filling the live well for another great fish fry.

Always look forward to your videos. The waters you fish look so inviting. That last hit happens to me all the time too. Even with treble stingers you got to wonder how eyes don't get hooks in when they hit that hard...
Thanks
There’s lots of different waterbodies in Saskatchewan, from Southern reservoirs & rolling hills to the Northern clear water lakes hidden up in the trees.
It’s crazy sometimes when you feel the bite, then feed them line and still it’s just in the front of the mouth.
Nice Video. I will say that by hooking your worm to the treble, you are restricting the rotation of the worm on the slow death hook. It would be better to hook the worm through the very tip of the worm on the slow death hook and run it up to just below the swivel.
Nice underwater footage of the jig in action.
Thanks
One thing that I did notice is that there is a little bit of resistance with the hooks attached to the swivel. The whole rig seemed to spin better with artificial crawlers, more dense & created more drag spinning the rig.
That & the rig didn’t foul up as much either because of density. It held the chain of hooks straighter not allowing them to double back onto the jig or rod line.
It was interesting.
Dude you hammer them!! Nice presentation they couldn't resist
Had fun finding them that day, dead calm and the sun was blazing down. But in the weeds they were. Lost about 3 walleye & one nice pike with a bad sun glare in the footage. If I would of known it was happening I would of just trolled north the whole time lol… What do ya do though, just gotta do the best ya can & have fun.
@@surgeoutdoorsangling as long is fun man!! A bad day of fishing is better than been at work haha 😄
Yes sir 👍🎣
Very good video and to the point. I like your bibs . Can you share where you purchased them from. 😎
Thanks, those bibs are from under armour. Link below. They are really nice, also light. Great for even after in the fish cleaning area to keep your clothes clean.

Are you slow trolling?
Trolling them 1.2 mph, 1.3..1.4 wouldn’t hurt either just gotta watch where you are off bottom.
What are your favorite colors?
As far as factory colors I’d say you have to have Firetiger, Cotton Candy, Blue Shiner, Sunburst, Perch, WNC Tiger.
I like to paint and add my own colors to them as well. Really like a lime green color.
Have you tried Walleye Nation Creations Death Jig yet?
