Made my day when your son stated that it was his first time hanging a door. I can actually feel his happiness. It is good that your sons are learning everything there is to know on how to build a house at a young age, especially cabins. Awesome video.

You're two young boys already know more about carpentry than I do at age 73. This is a great thing. It shows that hard work, and hands on goes a long way. Following faith and staying active, and healthy, clean cut, always will run circles around those with high college degrees,, Thanks for a great you tube sequence on your Alaska build.

A meal from my growing-up days - a meat dish, mashed potatoes, gravy, a veggie and, to top it off, butter, jelly and home-made bread ! Doesn't get any better than that! Memories from 75+ years ago. Loved seeing this fantastic house rise from the forest....thanks for the ride and a belated happy birthday to the twins (and the rest of the family, too).

Great video! I’m never going to be building my own log home, but it is surely great fun watching you build yours!!!! Your boys work side by side w/ you. They are so cooperative. I have three grandsons who are not cooperative, so I wish they lived your life style. Your home is going to be wonderful. If you want archways in your home, you just make it lickety split. So amazing to be. arch ways would be upgrades in your home, and would probably cost an extra $20,000.00 to have a. Carpenter build them in!

Greetings to Alaska, you still have a lot of work. Very nice how you plan your future and very solidly build the house.
As for the chimney, plan a, about 2 inch opening about 20 inches, above the stove, or an injector with 90°, so you can blow the chimney pipe with compressed air, free in any weather, and not lose that heat. Soot, in the chimney pipe, is an insulation and if less, or no soot is in the chimney pipe, so you save a lot of wood and work. The injector nozzle, at the exit of the 90° bend, on the pipe into the chimney pipe about 2mm in the middle and in 3 x 7° holes, from the middle, also in 2.0mm.
    Greetings from Frankfurt.
