I've had both. Charge 6 died in less then 5 months. Heart rate tracker is horrible. Cardio never recorded and was always a minute delay in heart rate tracking. The garmin vivoactive 5 has been a game changer. Heart rate tracker is fantastic and on point and the app in general is better then fit bit with no payed subscription.
I have killed 2 Charge 5s because I swam with them. I love the watch overall for it's comfort and ease of use. I have been using a Sunnto 5 Peak for the last 4 months, which seems to be more durable, but it's clunky compared to the FitBit and the Suunto app is not as easy to understand. The app has very complex metrics. Also, the FitBit was better at tracking my recovery (sleep). I am thinking of getting another Charge (the 6) but I expect it will last 6 months and I will be making another warranty claim.

I want to de-Google, so not the Fitbit.
