People don't realise that Ange has studied Advanced Negotiation tactics from his time at Flinders University in Melbourne. It comes as no surprise to me that he is personally convincing these players to commit to the club after a brief interaction.

The reason he didn’t want to join initially was because he looked at Tottenham, we were 15th in the league. He didn’t want to sign a 4-5 year contract & join a club that could potentially get relegated, so he rejected Tottenham. But now he’s accepted a loan, that way if we don’t get relegated he’ll probably sign permanently, but if we get relegated, it means he can go straight back to Bayern Munich. So it’s a smart move on his side.
on the 'we could afford him if he was at the peak of their powers, we just wouldn't buy him' is a philosophical stance. tottenham have always got the young ones and groomed them for greatness. tel will join the list.
