Stellar video. I like that you actually spoke to the issue and the potential fixes instead of giving a vague description of the potential issue, like "It may be something to do with your password....". So in my case I have come up against this outlook issue before. Its as you said related to the old outlook desktop app being ancient. You do in fact have to create an app password to circumnavigate this issue. I have also had to fully uninstall, clear credentials, restart, reinstall and use an app password to get it to work but it does! I also recently had a issue with it when I activated the modern suggested MFA by microsoft which is done through Azure Active Directory. About 1 hour after activating the modern way, it prompted me to provide credentials (Had not done this in years). As normal I went off to my account to get an app password and...BAM...the option was gone. Eventually I turned the old MFA by user back on and the option was back...uninstall, credentials, reinstall, app (3 hours later)...fixed! Anyhow, i'm close to moving to the web outlook but its still missing the ability to favourite inboxes from shared mailboxes. Anyhow, thanks for the video!
Fine job, Leo, clear and concise. I have been chasing this rabbit down the rabbit hole for many years, and this vid brought me to the predictable epiphany: I need to dump Outlook for something more contemporary and stable. I can access what email there is for now thru Google itself, then just click on M for gmail and go on about my business. Then, when I decide and set about the switch over, I will have built in time and convenience for the conversion. Thanks again for opening my eyes to an overdue change in my techno-habits.🎸
He could either use the web client instead or go in the Windows menu where it stores your passwords, remove the Outlook, reboot and try again to see if it then saves it again.
Thunderbird question: Been using for years and all of a sudden it freezes when scrolling for 10-15 sec each time I move the wheel. Has become unusable. Tried everything I could find by searching. Any suggestions? Thanks. JimE
For me, my email app gives me notifications with my email written saying "sign in failed" so i have to put my password in and it works and i get back into my account again, but eventually i get the same message again and have to do the same thing
I recently switch to passwordless, since then my hotmail account on outlook 2016 prompts every time it sends and recieve mail. So, is outlook 2016 compatible with the new passwordless account?
Under your settings if using outlook 2013 or 2016 u hve the box checked that says require authentication each time this program opens’ U need to go in and untick that box’
I use windows 8.1 and i tried to upgrade to windows 10. I already put the product code in the windows 10 installation media but i want to change it. I tried to delete the tool but it doesnt ask for the product code anymore. How do i put in a new code?
You enter it, and it asks again, and again, and again…

Thank you, the best, clearest explanation of what to do.
None of these apply to me sadly, this is an issue that seems to occur out of the blue every couple of years, bizarre

I'd probably try uninstalling and reinstalling Thunderbird. DO back up first.

- But I never had a password.
My "favorite".
Have to say, that's one I've not run into. :-)
I get lots of practice entering my password correctly because I have to enter it dozens of times a day because of this annoying problem.

"couldn't find your google account" means the email address you typed in doesn't exist. Make sure you're typing it in properly.
