I know it's lazy but do you know off hand how long of hanger wire you used. I just ordered this stove early today so I am happy i found your video! Thanks for putting out such great videos.
No worries, man I hope you used my link in the description above. The wire is approx. 5.5", I would cut it to at least 6" then trim the ends to fit once you have it right. Bend both pieces at the same time that way they will be even.
Awesome Video! I have the same stove. Have you tried using the base plate on top at a 45 degree angle. I have done this with my stove using the alcohol burner and the Stanley adventure pot. I have used it 6 times so far and have had no issues with the burner plate falling out. I find that without the bottom plate in place, the top burner adaptor holds in place more securley. The base plate on top now offers a sturdy cooking surface for any size cup or pot. Thanks for your videos. CG
Thanks for the video! I use a fan grille from the back side of a PC instead of the wire. And to use hexamine tabets, or fuel gel instead of the alcohol burner, i put 3 screws triangular in the side of a airgun pellet tin. This fits snugly in the inset for the alcohol burner.
Buddy the hanger wire idea is pure genius. I've been racking my brain trying to figure out a cost effective way to use my Stanley cook pot. Awesome video
Was actually wanting one of those but was concerned about the warping. but now that you showed me this hack? I'm getting one. Nice to see a fellow Floridian come up with this, thanks neighbor
a metal computer fan cover is a nice grill top. i made some cross members out of some metal crate strapping, they slip into the corners. i only use it with wood fire, and have not had it warp so much that it causes a problem.
I was using small stainless skewers so the smaller things would not fall in (they can be used for a bunch of other things as well )but the hanger wire is a fantastic addition as ensures the integrity of the stove. Very cool idea.
Stove arrived, took it out yesterday, pot fell off, fire didn't burn, couldn't wait to get it out before trying your hack. Need to get it sorted before I use it next..👍
thanks so much i was actually considering buying the other one just for the cross bars , the one that slides together i'm happy i found this i ordered this one and will make the mods to make it work with any cookware, awesome video ty
Just got this same one. Nice hack. I learned on my last similar stove to keep some spare wire in the pouch with me, as well as a wire screen. That one didn't have the hinges, so it was a must. Apparently they all flex a little.
While ordering some tube burners for my gas grill, I needed to spend a few more dollars to get free shipping so I ordered one of these little stoves. I'll keep this mod in mind. I use Esbit Fuel Tabs too, so I'll try to figure out how to get that to work.
Thanks for sharing! I was gonna buy one of these until I saw your other video when it first collapsed on you. Now I might add it to my wishlist after seeing your fix. Thanks!
It works pretty well now. You would think Lixada would have recognized this defect, but I guess not. Check in the description, I put an Amazon link to it...
Now that is a great mod. I have the same stove. I haven't had the same problem, but I haven't used the stove as much, either. I don't know if it's made a difference, but I stripped the coating off my stove, and the sprayed it with barbecue paint. I already have a grill that fits on top of the stove, but I'm definitely doing the hanger wire mod because I had the adventure pot, and one other pot, that won't fit. One way I use this stove that you don't have to worry about in Florida is to make the alcohol stove burn in winter. Up here, it can get too cold for alcohol to burn. Trangia makes a little cup thing that you sit the stove in, our some alcohol around the stove, light that, and get the stove burning. The flaw with this is that the alcohol you pour in the base cup has to be warm enough to burn, and mine seldom is because of where I carry it. Better and easier for me is to build a small fire in the bottom of the Lixada stove, and then put in my alcohol stove. The tiny twig fire heats the alcohol stove, the alcohol in it starts putting off fumes, and will then ignite. The problem is that when it gets that cold, I don't ignite very well, either. Fortunately, I've found a hot cup of coffee laced with 190 proof alcohol, the same alcohol I burn in my stove, works wonders. The coffee heats the alcohol, and the alcohol ignites when I drink it. At least it burns like fire. 190 proof grain alcohol is wicked stuff.
Great ideas, thank you. I'm also interested to know if that stove will fit inside the stanley pot when it's folded. It'd make a neat little package if it does !
Love your videos! I had a question: what are the dimensions of the Lixada in the nylon carrying pouch? I'm trying to determine if it will fit in one of my molle pouches. Thanks!
The issue of warping I have with mine, which I like well enough sometimes it warps and the bottom completely falls out when I'm using twigs to burn in the stove. Not every time but often. I'm gonna see if I can rig something with a wire like you did to keep the bottom from falling out. As it is I put an enamel plate under mine to catch the falling ashes and if I'm using it at home to cook outdoors so as to not heat up the house, I put a silicone trivet under that so as not to mar my nice tiled table on my patio. Thanks for the hack. It gives me some ideas to improve my set up.
Clever hacks. Question, would you be able to use the simmer ring with the first hack? Either as a simmer ring or to "snuff" the stove out? I have a few videos on this stove on my YT channel as well. Thanks for sharing
Great video! I can see we think alike. I was fortunate to find stainless steel for my grill and some light weight (meaning extremely thin like 30 AWG which as thick as the walls of the stove) stainless steel metal for a cross for the top. I do have one question, Have you tried to put a door on the side fuel filler hole? This makes this little stove perfect for wood pellets and still allows you access (when open) to still feed twigs. I like options lol.
Thanks! I would like to see a pic of what you did on the top of yours. I have not tried to block off the side but it is a good idea. However if I am going to use wood pellets or twigs I use a wood gasifier that I made and save this one for alcohol fuel...
FloridaBoy Survival I’ll see if I can upload a picture in a reply (not super tech savvy) I built a wood gas stove too and then found a collapsible one on Amazon for $16.97 (Ohuhu brand name). I don’t think I could’ve made a collapsible stove for that cost. In case you’re wondering, I’ve done a minor modification to the pot support on the bought stove. I guess I’ve got to customize everything lol.
I have an older model of a folding stove I found it is a wast of space in my bag, you can make a stove burner out of a can where everything slides in one another, I got that idea by watching videos it's like the charcoal burner but down sized or a shrunken version.
Yes. Really any wire that will support what you want to put on there will work. I used 1/2" and doubled it over because that's what I had also. I would think that 1/4" would work just fine. My square is 3.5x3.75, just because thats how the 1/2" went when doubled over.
I've seen people selling the fan covers from pc fans (the "cross shape with circles in it" type) for use on the top of stoves. If you've an old PC in a garage, maybe something to scavenge! I've one of these stoves and once fed the feeding hole seems a bit big when using wood. I'm pondering if allowing putting a bit of metal over the top half of this like a door so air is sucked in from just below (and less heat gets out) might make it more effiecient? Like it's a much cleaner "draw" of air from bottom to top, make it less open? I'd have to source a bit of something that won't burst into flames to try it. Anyway just a thought, wonder if anyone HAS tried it and noticed a difference.
I think the second mod if u bend four edges a little bit u will have a stable grid that not moving allow but it will be hard for u to put it in the package
Cool stove man,I thought about getting me one but can't decide exactly what I want, thanks for sharing, I have a channel myself check it out if you like,I subbed can't wait to check the other videos
Thanks. These are pretty inexpensive, and I have a few different types that I use for different things so don't lock yourself in to one type. See my video on wood gas stoves, they work great also...I will definitely check out your stuff man!
If you couldn't for whatever reason "make" a grill for the top of the stove you can buy a - Bushcraft Mini Grill on Amazon for about $13.97 plus shipping and tax.

Glad I could help! It is a great stove...
Thanks mate, great hacks look forward to getting my stove out in the hills. Greetings from Wales...🔥

FloridaBoy Bushcraft & Survival ty for that info, was gonna ask how it was holding up. You read my mind, lol
Thanks Matt! My hubby surprised me with one of these stoves today and I appreciate the hacks!
It is a great stove, you will like it
I purchased cross braces on Amazon made for these stoves, work great.
Yep. I like doing things the hard way lol
Stove arrived, took it out yesterday, pot fell off, fire didn't burn, couldn't wait to get it out before trying your hack. Need to get it sorted before I use it next..👍
Thanks! It is a good stove it just needs a couple of small things...mine is still doing well
Awesome ideas. Thank you 👍
Thanks for watching!
Thanks for the coat hanger hack...
No problem. It works great
Good hacks. I have trouble making the Stanley pot fit on some of my stoves as well. Thank you for the video, Matt
Thanks. It is the concave base that screws you on these but I found a way around it...
thanks so much i was actually considering buying the other one just for the cross bars , the one that slides together i'm happy i found this i ordered this one and will make the mods to make it work with any cookware, awesome video ty
Very cool. If you have any questions about the hanger wire bars just let me know...
Nice mods, I just got a Lixada last week and have been starting to work on making it work better and these will definitely help!
Thanks! I love my Lixada...
Very good ideas. Thank you very much
No problem! They are all still working great on mine...
Just got this same one. Nice hack. I learned on my last similar stove to keep some spare wire in the pouch with me, as well as a wire screen. That one didn't have the hinges, so it was a must. Apparently they all flex a little.
This one is great. The wire cancels the flex also...
Great ideas
Glad you like them!

Thanks! The hanger wire works really well, even when I use it with my canteen cup. Man you live in a cold place...lol
Awesome!
I really need to use mine more often!
You do. This one little hack really helps it out....
I bet this would work well on similar folding stoves
It would, all you have to do is measure.
Great ideas, thank you. I'm also interested to know if that stove will fit inside the stanley pot when it's folded. It'd make a neat little package if it does !
Thanks! Sadly it will not fit inside the Stanley...
No, but it literally fits in a standard cargo pocket!
Guess i'll have to go catch the canteen cup vidja!!
Thumbs on the mod!! *Have a good'nnn*
Thanks man. It works pretty good now...
Excellent info! Thanks very much for sharing with us! I definitely appreciate your videos. Keep up the good work.
Thanks! this is a great stove for the money...

All closed up mine is 5"x4.25"x1"
Nice idea.
Thanks!
@@FloridaBoyBushcraftSurvival i will definitely do this hack, im just waiting for my titanium folding stove from aliexpress.
Good ideas, well done!
Thanks! The light mods make a good stove even better...
Hell yeah thanks for the video
Thanks! This is a great stove...
Thanks.
No problem!
I'm looking for a small, portable solid fuel or wood burning stove that's not made out of galvinized steel. Do you have any recommendations?
These are made out of stainless...

Just make the wires out of an old coat hanger, it works great to keep the side together. No issues at all anymore with mine....
Very nice mods. I was just wondering how you were able to use the snuff or simmer ring with the coat hanger hook mods?
The hanger wire moves pretty easily so you can just push it aside and use the snuffer...
Clever hacks. Question, would you be able to use the simmer ring with the first hack? Either as a simmer ring or to "snuff" the stove out? I have a few videos on this stove on my YT channel as well. Thanks for sharing

No problems. I really like this stove...
Thanks for sharing! Good idea for the stove:)
Thanks, now it works a lot better...
I also use the gauze inside and wood pellets for cat litter. The gauze holds it in and doesn't fall out.
Nice, good ideas...
What do u. Mean by self adjustable
It does not need any adjustment

Yes. Really any wire that will support what you want to put on there will work. I used 1/2" and doubled it over because that's what I had also. I would think that 1/4" would work just fine. My square is 3.5x3.75, just because thats how the 1/2" went when doubled over.
matt what's the size of the hanger wire pieces? did i ask u that already? lol i don't think so, thx
A Yahtzee in my book (well done sir).
Thanks! I love Yahtzee...lol
Easy breezy lemon squeezy is right!
Haha, it is a super easy fix and makes the stove a lot better...
Amazing video as always my friend 😇. Thanks much!!!

eBay measurement are the coat hanger wires?
I used coat hanger wire. They are 3.5" x 3/4"

I thought about doing it like that but it does not really move around at all when in use so I kept it flat.
Awesome mods Matt!
Thanks man. I love your drone footage also....
Great mods! Great video! Keep it up brother!
Thanks. I am keepin on....lol
I like the Stanley pot, but the taper on the bottom sucks.
The Stanley pot is cool, the taper does suck. just gotta roll with it and improvise...
I have the clip on one and I still havent been able to actually put together correctly ... its been 3 years haha
Lol...I thought about that one but a lot of people were having trouble getting it together. This one is easy...
Matt. did this great buddy of mine wanted to know where to buy the wires .lol I show him how to gave you the Credit for it .
Awesome! The wires are just coat hanger wires but they make the stove SOOOOOO much better...
So that mesh grill does nothing to prevent warping..which i thought was the purpose of the video
No it does not
