Hey that’s such a great question. I have a week in my life university video that can give a live look at this. However, to answer your question here, I definitely think it depends on each person. Your major + if you have any other commitments outside of school
For instance, I have work and I’m involved in leadership for a club whilst being a Biochem major, so you can imagine it gets a little crazy. However, things like living at residence can make it easier to have the social part be active because your friends are always with you. And if you don’t have as many commitments outside of academics, like me in first year, there’s plenty of time to go to lots of events. I had a blast first year
Lastly about having other black people around, this is different for every city. I’m about to make a video on Canadian university application guide where I’ll list some schools in Ontario and Quebec and the cities they’re in. Lots of cities like the greater Toronto area and Montréal have many black people. But in smaller towns, not so much
