Also that kinda sucks to hear about the screeching issue with the A-Nots recording, but hey it makes it unique

It does make it unique in a sense, but it's also borderline unbearable to listen to at some parts lol

A rather odd question, about that Killers tape. Does the song Killers start with a hi-hat of the drums or just Steve’s bass? There are evidently multiple mastering of this album and that hi-hat is the way to find out. My only working tape deck self destructed so I need to find a bit of help on this.

I'll play the tape as soon as possible and get back to you on that

My cassette starts off with Steve's bass on the title track. Just to make sure we're on the same page, the cassette I have was put out in 1981 by Capitol Records (catalog ID: 4XT-12141).

@@BrandonRelkamOfficial Thank you very much for helping with this. This does prove my theory correct, the vinyl and cassette versions of the first two albums use a different mastering altogether, at least on Capitol. The reason I became curious is that the Capitol and EMI CD versions from the 80s share the same differences. The EMI versions are in line with the vinyl, and the Capitols are in line with the cassettes. There is a difference in the self titled album, Phantom of the Opera had a longer ending on vinyl but not on cassette.
