Castor is such a great example of how important a primary star's binary magnitude is for being able to see a star system from Earth. Well done again, mate.

Which is your favourite star of Gemini? Castor? Pollux, or maybe something else.. Alhena is definitely and interesting one too! I think I'll go for Alhena for my choice 😁😁
I strongly disagree with the claim that Castor A is yellow-white. Color only makes sense as the human response to different wavelengths. It is clear that we see the Sun as white - or at least, we see daylight as white, and daylight is Sunlight. It makes sense that we should see sunlight as white, as it has always been by far the most important light source for humanity. Therefore the Sun should be described as white or at best yellow-white. F-type stars are white or whitish, and A-type stars are clearly bluish. I know, because I used to show visitors A-type stars through a telescope, and the visitors all agreed that the (unreddened) A-type stars were blue.
lol.. not sure if you're disagreeing with me or just in general there Ann - the BV colour index has both Castor Aa and Ab as almost pure white, although yes when viewed from a telescope they could seem blue, and definitely blue compared to Pollux, which presumably is what a lot of folks will compare them too? Stars at the top end of the A-class, like these, or Sirius/Vega definitely could be argued to have a slight blue tinge to them but technically as far as I'm aware they are classified as pure white. My understanding is It's only when they pass into the negatives that they are considered as turning into blue from white.. really delighted someone is paying attention though!!

Castor Ab is a red dwarf not a blue star
Not sure we fully know what Ab is, the parameters arent clearly defined hence its dM designation.. although yeah could be red dwarf 😀
