It looks like a delightful spot from which to watch trains go by and then with some other scenes on which to feast the eye between trains. Thanks for the share and have a great weekend.
Used to be a great place Andre in those days but its mainly three car units that pass now.A steamer once a week in the summer as well. Thanks for watching.....Regards...Trevor.
The only Peak I ever encountered 'in the wild' was 45115 'APOLLO' at Leeds. I did one of the Scarborough Spa Expresses behind 92220 'Evening Star'. Back then you could get through the coal Yard to the platforms of the old Excursion Station, where the loco was standing. As I recall there was a large flour mill'/grain silos somewhere en-route that used to send grain by rail. Their connection was being severed then, in the 1980's. I think the business still exists, but there's no trace they ever used rail transport now. Probably happened with the demise of the pick-up goods. Used to get '47s on the BP Saltend - Baglan Bay Acetic Acid tankers. The lowest number I encountered was 47002, which was not the second oldest member of the class as I recall.
Was a lovely warm summers morning Dave....Our John in the field with his tripod taking photos watching these great trains coming by .Youngest son and his mate were with us as well, happy days.....Trevor.''
This is great quality Trevor you wouldn't think it was 31 years old. Regards Mike.
