Gojira live is something else, this perfomance is just the tip of the iceberg. Lots of live songs that are as intense or maybe even more. Most reactors stick to a couple of studio recordings never getting to the very impressive live stuff. Geez, that was intense. One of the best intros I have ever heard. Gojira is a band I had heard of but never listened to until now. And you are right, the drummer is insane! had to look it up, he is Mario Duplantier, one of the founding brothers. Not a big fan of growls or death metal, but this was great. The vocals really fit the despair of the lyrics, which were pretty dope. Thanks for the introduction and keep rocking.
If you're not a fan of growl/death metal, you should enjoy their albums that followed the 2012 album "L'enfant Sauvage", their 2016 magma is oddly melancholic (with bangers too though) while still aggressive and their latest album is really good but the voice is far behind in the mix which is unusual. This eased me into appreciating their older albums that are way heavier and harsher, though I'm not a fan of their 2 first albums solely because of the death metal vocals.
@@Lamren Thanks, I'll give them a listen. I tend to be more interested in the lyrics since I have zero musical ability. For me, a song has to tell a story or evoke an emotional response. My biggest complaint about growling is I cannot understand the words most of the time. When I can (Wintersun is an example) then I have no problems with it.

This band is KILLER live at all times. You can check the studio albums which are good but if you get a chance please look at PRAY Live at Red Rocks. Stellar performance!!! You won't regret it. It highlights all of the things that has made Gojira great for 2 decades now.
