GOLDFINGER | Aston Martin DB5

  • Smoke screen (tick), bullet shield (tick), ejector seat (tick). Bond uses some of the gadgets on his Aston Martin DB5 in GOLDFINGER (1964). Production received just one prototype DB5 to kit out with all of the gadgets. Special effects supervisor John Stears remembers the first thing he did was make the hole for the ejector seat, “I marked it out, and taped off the roof of this beautiful car. I looked at it, went away and had a cup of coffee, came back, and got the drill, and drilled the hole. It was terrifying.”

    Gold finger was the start of when bond films became silly and far fetched. Dr no and Russia with love were good because they stuck to gritty realism. Tim dalton and Daniel Craig bonds were good for getting back to realism . They should stick to a darker real gritty bond and have no children’s gimmicks and gadgets

    Bond can’t be all that smart. About 400 rounds were shot at his car before he remembers he has a bullet proof rear screen. He also has rearward facing machine guns (if memory serves me) but he apparently chooses to run off the road and use a pistol to return fire.

    With some help from Doc Brown if Bond had Star Trek Voyager's Delta Flyer he would have easily defeated Goldfinger's men. He could have opened up the Delta Flyer's Phaser Cannons and easily destroyed all those cars!!! And Tily would smile seeing the power of the Delta Flyer's Phaser Cannons unleashed!!!! He could then fire a stun phaser at Odd Job and when he screams in agony fire a Photon Torpedo into his stomach. When it explodes they would know for sure Odd Job was not going to survive!!!! And Tily would not have been killed!!!! ruclips.net/video/LVVR4r0Dlg0/видео.html Goldfinger's men would have no chance vs this much fire power!!! Lol!!! ruclips.net/video/Mejw6Rv8osI/видео.html

    So if anyone knows cars really well I have a question:
    So, in this film James drives an Aston Martin DB5. But in the original book in 1959 he drives an Aston Martin DB3. So my question is what exactly does the “DB3 DB5” mean and what’s the difference between an Aston Martin DB3 and an Aston Martin DB5?

    • @Vincent_Sullivan
      @Vincent_Sullivan 2 года назад +1

      Nathaniel; I am not really a car person and can't tell you the specific differences between a DB3 and a DB5 but I can tell you that the "DB" part of the name comes from the initials of Sir David Brown, an English industrialist, who purchased the Aston Martin automobile company in 1947 and owned it until 1972. Models developed during David Brown's ownership of the company frequently had DB as part of the model number and higher numbers signify later more modern models. Even after David Brown sold the company Aston Martin still used DB as part of the model number for some of their automobiles and I believe the most recent in this series is the DB11. Over the years Aston Martin has been owned by many different companies, notably Ford from 1987 to 2007, and has also at times been an independent company. I hope this helps to partially answer the question.
