We dont like loseing our family because it is really sad for when people die in army even if your a poly it hard because you cry alot and just never stop
@@moefaanonoamaiava8949That's also true for us palagi people who grew up on the islands and ran into Samoan people in the US. I happened upon a group of Samoan people in Las Vegas during a July 4th celebration, and once they learned that I'm from Tutuila, we immediately became friends. As I bounced between the two groups, one of my newfound Samoan usos offered to beat up a guy who was making jokes at my expense. I have zero idea what it must be like to be a Samoan but by the sounds of this it must be wonderful. Amazing on so many levels. Hoping you all a safe and sound return home.

I remember my brother showing me this video, and as he showed me I see how proud he was to be Samoan and now that my brother has passed away at the age of 27 I always come back to this video and remember the look he had on his face when he showed me this video and it makes me cry and feel sooo proud to be Samoan and so blessed to have had him as a brother. And as my brother would say Ch Ch Cheeeeeewoooo
Just goes to show you: no matter where you are, what you are doing, or what the situation is, we Samoans are going to sit down & sing & you are not going to stop us. They call us 'the happy people' for a reason

I'm half palagi half samoan/hawaiian, I grew up not really knowing much about my Polynesian culture and had to teach myself. It's been difficult to learn with no teachers but I've been doing the best I can, and hearing songs like this really help me stay on track of my mission to learn more. Fa'a samoa CHEEHOO!
When I served with the 25th ID in the 1990's. I had the honor of training with Samoan soldiers. They were some of the most professional, toughest, and strongest people I have ever encountered. I have much love and respect for the Samoan people.
One thing about Samoans is that they’re going to SING. Even in the most heated moments, music always seems to calm us down. Thank you to the people outside of Samoans showing love! We love you all! #SAMOA
Though these Samoan soldiers are miles away from their homeland in the Pacific, they are proud to keep their cultural heritage alive, strong, and accompanied with them at all times. I'm proud of this, and it makes me happy. I salute you all for your patriotism, bravery, courage, and gratitude to maintain your culture strong. Greetings from the United States! 🇼🇸🇺🇸

Always had massive respect for Samoans. Grew up playing rugby in my backwoods American hometown. I’ll take on anyone but watching rugby on tv and seeing y’all play is a totally different experience. Y’all are awesome
Its a blessing to know that our culture is still putting God first in everything they do. Keep your heads up and fight. Remember warriors are always warriors for a reason. May God bless you all on the way.

Still my favorite military video ever and will always be, makes me feel so happy when i watch your video, you guys are so happy, Thank you for your service!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
filipino here and i love the samoan culture. i have been researching the samoan culture for the past month. i love their simple life but their food selection do not seem to be diverse. the ingredients just revolve around taro, breadfruit, coconut and bananas. also the men are big but i also learned obesity and diabetes is on the rise because of growing dependence on SPAM and lamb imports from New Zealand. i hope the government of samoa can do something about the obesity and diabetes problems of samoa before its too late. my bucket list before i die is to visit the beautiful island of samoa and go to the Polynesian cultural center. from your austrinesian brother in the Philippines 🇵🇭 🇼🇸
I want to add to this comment. I am a palagi from New Zealand. If I spent a month researching anyone, including my Samoan Bros, I wouldn't watch the people who serve their country and the world who are singing and stirring up my whole heart admiration appreciation and love... and THEN write a blatantly ignorant comment about their diet and a health issue. I love all the different things like kossava, yams, taro leaves, coconut cream, raw fish, watermelon, pineapple, and wow, pork cooked on the fire!!! I am constantly given food by Fijians and once a Tongan neighbour made a feast for me and my family, including a pig cooked on a spit. How lucky I am to live in a place with not only the beautiful tangata whenua but also the island people of the Pacific!!!! I have decided now to learn more about these beautiful people. By the way, I bet all these soldiers here look after their families, get by with less than I do, and are more joyful, generous and full of faith than I will ever ❤️ be. This is awesome. Thanks for posting it. It is an EXCELLENT reminder of how diverse the US military is. These guys sing beautifully, and watching this gave me a strong sense of how little we appreciate the people of the territories. I will be more aware of their contributions to our society now.

If you fight against them, forever will come to you very fast.
I just came across this wonderful video. Thank you for posting it. Please delete the disgraceful negative comments. These solders deserve to be respected.
Steve, you can't delete the disgraceful comments because of freedom of speech rights. That's what the troops fight for , it doesn't make it right though. America has it's problems but I would not want to live anywhere else in the world. There are always people that hate and the only thing you can do is hope they find peace in their life.

Highest rate "per capita", it makes a big difference. If there were only two Lakota Sioux fighting in that war and one was killed, then one could say that 50% of the Lakota Sioux were killed. Whereas if you had 100,000 white guys fighting, 50,000 would have to die for the same 50% loss number. Numbers are like people, torture them long enough and they will say what you want to hear.
This in no way takes away from my Samoan brothers, badasses one and all. Happiest, most loyal, honest, moral people on planet Earth. If you love them, then you will love them forever. If you fight against them, forever will come to you very fast.
If you think the Army gives you a good idea of how diverse the US military is look at the USMC.

Island style ... so awesome. Blessings from New Zealand.
There are always people that hate and the only thing you can do is hope they find peace in their life.
this is beautiful. thank you for your service, Samoan brethren.

It's so heart-warming to watch fellow Samoans singing together. I used to listen to Samoan church members singing while growing up. Always beautiful to listen to. #polynesian #hawaiian #samoan #expat
