You are the first person I've watched that acknowledged the difference between what is commonly referred to as Alocasia "Frydek" and the ACTUAL veriagated Alocasia Frydek. The real Frydek is an absolutely stunning plant, but you are correct, the verification is very unstable and unfortunately reverting is the first thing the plant will do if the growing environment isn't optimal to what they want. I am fortunate to own an authentic Alocasia "Frydek" and I refer to her as my diva, because she's so temperamental and demanding of her growing conditions being exactly the way she wants. She has her own environmentally controlled section of my house and requires a LOT more attention than the rest of my aroids. Thank you for sharing your experiences growing Alocasia, your upbringing gifted you with priceless knowledge of caring for this captivating plants. I have watched countless RUclips video about caring for Alocasias and Aroids in general, but I found the information you shared in your video to be truly the most useful knowledge that nobody else has had a lifetime of experience to understand. Thank you Memo for sharing this video.
Awwww thank you for the kind words and yes truly a lifetime, i have been lucky they are such cool plants, both Alocasia and Colocasia and i loved hearing about your real Frydek, i completely get that it needs its very own specific care, i have heard similar things from other people lucky enough to have the real Frydek.
To anyone that’s in a hurry he keeps his Alocasia in smaller pots and waters more frequently to achieve the bigger leaves
wonderful video, very informative. I have a young Alocasia Frydek and I can't seem to find information on its variegation? It has green on green variegation and has an army camouflage pattern. It does not have white but it is lime, mint and dark green. could you help me identify it? I will now watch another of your great videos! thank you
Sounds like aglaonema pattern
Such a beautiful plant. I have one in pon, in a lechuza self watering pot. The roots have come out of the container and hang in the water. Do you know if I need to chop them off off? It seems to be loving life right now but I read somewhere that it's bad to let the roots escape from the pot.
Not 100% sure yet on this one. Only just recently started transferring mine to pon and most of the roots haven't ended up in water yet 😬😬😬
No matter what I seem to do, mine never has more than three leaves. The moment a new leaf opens, one droops and dies 😭 I've gotten lots of bulbs though. Please help
That is huge!!! Beautiful plant!❤
You sure have grown one stunning plant there. As always full of information.
This is a wishlist plant for me, and oh my word seeing yours thriving like that makes me want one more 🖤🖤🖤🖤
Definately one of my fastest and easiest Alocasia (in my care) if you find one and you can, defo grab one 😊
It's a beautiful plant! I hope mine will grow that much! ;)
I couldnt find on google about the frydek and i tried to tell someone but they didnt believe me 😭 idk how to explain it i guessss
I can help you with that if you still need a source
THANKS for your information. does it need bright light ? or medium light ?
I find most of my alocasia including this one, do really well in bright light
@@Houseplantygoodness thanks 😊
Does anyone ever had a Micholitziana, that got tiny tiny white/yellow spots all over its leaves? I checked it thoroughly for weeks now and it doesn't have any pests. Yet it gets more and more and I really fail to find an explanation (I have more that one Micholitziana and they are both having those spots, sitting is opposite rooms). One is sitting in Pon, it's really large by now and never had any problems before whatsoever. The second one sits in a mix of Pon, chunky larva and chunky pumice. Both still get new leaves and otherwise don't look any different to what they looked before.
Thank u
Wow really really big..
I am guessing from what you've said this baby wouldn't mind being in a self watering pot.
I'm going to give it a go !
Thank you 🌱🌿👍💚🇦🇺
The size of that plant legit scared me ha ha it's amazing! I have a large leaf on mine I'm excited about but the second's vine is growing in a circle.... have you seen that?
That a mammoth 😘😘😘😘😘
Lol I realized I don’t want one anymore. These videos are so helpful! Thank you!
Hey! Just got this gorgeous plant and i am thinking of transferring it to pon. How is yours doing in pon? Stunning plant you have there 🥰
Can I grow it in full sun?
True
