My first road trip west of Missouri was in 1990 and my destination was San Francisco California. My memories crossing the vast plains, seeing the Rocky Mtns, the weirdness of the Utah national parks, Death Valley, the deserts of Nevada then even more mtns in California and finally the Golden Gate bridge and Pacific Ocean... and all in one nation. We Americans often forget how blessed we are!
My last trip through this section was when it was just completed. Me and my now deceased parents had to travel it. It was awesome to witness the enormous engineering project finally and so beautifully done.
I guess I'm a contrarian. I still prefe Glenwood Canyon before the interstate was put through it. You could pull of next to the river and have a picnic anywhere along side of it.
While my grandparents live in Aurora now, I used to drive from the Denver area to Carbondale where they used to live near Glenwood Springs with my parents every so often and I would take this road a lot whenever we went to Carbondale. I always loved driving in this part of the state. The views never disappointed me. Your drive took me back to those times. I enjoyed every second of this!
I was born in Glenwood and live in places such as McCoy, Burns, Sweetwater, Basalt, Carbondale, Glenwood. I have traveled through the canyon many many times. Before the interstate was put through there and after! This will always be one of my favorite sections of I 70.
Enjoy the new video! This is truly bucket list material for road geeks all over the world and if you haven’t traveled this I would highly recommend it! You will not be disappointed!
I'm liking the Pat Metheny soundtrack. Can we have more of him on your videos, please, Kyle. I am so enjoying your channel. I live in the UK and I am looking forward to the day when I can drive all these roads myself.
Lionel Steuart Fothringham Sure thong, I’ve been listening to a lot of his music lately, so definitely I’m open to using more of his music in future videos. Thanks for watching!

You can still do that. Plenty of exits with access to the river

You have the best highway video footage on youtube. Great concept!
Great video. Loved it and the photos at the end.
Absolutely beautiful ❤️☺️
70 is just another highway until you get to Glenwood Canyon from either direction.
Very beautiful drive!
Magnificent🙂
