I have used the my soil test twice now. Most things are pretty good but sulfur is very high. Any recommendations to lower it. Thanks for all info and help.
Hi Allen. We need to figure out why you have the bare spots. I’d there’s no shade or issues with serious compaction, I’d lean more towards taking plugs from areas that are growing well to the bare areas. Increasing your mowing frequency at lower heights will help the Bermuda to spread out too.
Ron, I have just started watching your your vids the last month. Even though I am in the transition zone, I have been picking up some good nuggets of info. This video was excellent. My hat is really off to you and how you don’t bad mouth anything or anyone…it is just very refreshing. Thank you and keep up the great work.
Thanks so much Don. I really appreciate you watching the content. I try my best not be a jerk as much as possible. I learned pretty early in life that someone else’s success doesn’t mean there’s less opportunity for me. Best to just get along. Thanks again for chiming in. Let me know if I can help with anything. 🙏😎
So a soil test is needed every year to determine annually if the previous years amendments worked and then what to do after that for the current year, or when u get your original info you stay on the same program?
@@RonHenry so it will most likely change your program year to year you can’t just work out the kinks and find the sweet spot and continue in say years 3 and beyond with the same regimen knowing everything your buying and even budget for it specifically for the next season
Another video with helpful content for the DIYer. In the past, I have used other soil test kits but this is the best. Thank you for the product recommendations Ron.
Glad you found it useful degeze. I know it’s not always the most exciting topic but it pretty important. Helps you create a better lawn by making it easier to pick the right products. Thanks for watching.
I must put this at the TOP of your videos as: ANOTHER GREAT INFORMATIVE VIDEO 👍🏽👍🏽👍🏽 This subject (SOIL TESTING), between the traditional and this RESIN soil testing always confuses me. Thanks for sharing! 👍🏽👍🏽👍🏽
Heya Wize guy. The best way to think about the resin used in the MySoil test is as a synthetic root that determines the nutrients the grass actually seeds. It measures what's available for uptake which I think is a great way of measuring. Glad you found it useful. Let me know if I can help with anything else. Thanks for watching. 🙏😎
Really loving your content just found your RUclips channel about a month ago you do a really great job informing and teaching the DIYer. Looking forward to learning and seeing more of your videos. GREAT JOB.
Nice content! I don't know why, but I think a lot of people (including myself) have a tendency to think that we can apply some amendments and it will fix a deficiency and then we're done...when in reality you'll likely need to keep fixing that deficiency year after year. One question I have is, when a lot of people are applying product once a month, when can you do a soil test with enough time after an application? Is 1 month enough? I didn't take a soil test this spring because I knew I put down a really late application that was likely just sitting there in the soil waiting for warmer temps and was afraid it would throw off the test.
Hi Greg. As long as you give it 4 weeks or so, you’re good to go. Realistically, if you test at the beginning of the season and at the end of the season, that should provide a lot of good info to help you know how well your program is working. Thanks for watching Greg. I appreciate it. 👍😎
Dang man, I just found your channel, commented on a different video about this same exact subject then found this video. Sorry about that. Keep up the good videos. I've enjoyed the ones I've watched.
I had Allyn tell me the same after my winter soil test, I was still low on alot and needed starter fert. He said "how did the yard look the year before?" It looked amazing when I used XST 8-24-12. So why get a soil test if we just go off of how it looks with the products we put down?
Great job Ron. Best comment of the conversation was but how is your lawn looking. Sometimes it is about how the lawn looks and not always the numbers. Like with any statistics the proof is in the pudding. Numbers are a good base but don't always tell the whole story but for only a certain length of time.
Doesn't really matter though Kevin. I've made my fertilization decisions based on this soil test data and my lawn looks fabulosu. Appreciate you watching.

How high is very high Sarge? What's your pH?
Sulfur is 31.61. PH is 6.05. Thanks again
Very informative
Thanks Mark. Appreciate you watching sir.
Great video. Took me until just now to get to it. Great info!
Thanks Papa Mow Low. It’s a longer one.
Best way to repair bare spots in common Bermuda? Seed?

That's the idea Jordan. The results help you tailor your program each year for the best possible result.

Thanks Hour Lawn Care. Appreciate the support. Let me know if I can help with anything else.
Good stuff. Did MySoil last fall, I’ll go back and review again.
Very cool Chuck. It provides the info you need to make good decisions around fertilizer.

Definitely a way to do things Dad_who_mows_best. If the lawn looks great, keep rolling with it. :-)

Great point Striperman. It’s fun to nerd out at the numbers but at the end of the day how the lawn looks matters most. Appreciate you watching. 🙏😎
Very interesting...nice job Ron! In the game with the top dawgs now. Love to see all your work paying off!
Thanks so much Robert. Was nice of Allyn and MySoil to agree to make a video analyzing the soil test data. 😎
I’m looking forward to the integration between the YardMastery branded test within the app! That will be awesome!
Should be pretty cool. I imagine Allyn will be able to create very customize programs once it's all rolled in.
@@RonHenry yeah! That’s what it sounded like at the end. Would be very convenient.
Most definitely. He didn’t say timeframe but I imagine sooner than later. Thanks for watching man.
So much win in this video! Thanks to all of you for your contributions to helping better the DIY lawn community.
Thanks for watching man! Was a fun one to make.
