Mark and James you really worked together well in a short time. Leon looked so smooth on his bike. I want to congratulation the video production staff who got all the great video around the track. Nice job.
#gtncoachescorner, I have often had a problem in the TT bars that I slowly slide forward on my saddle, this inevitably results in me needing to reposition and shift back just a tad every once in a while. Are there any bike setup tips to avoiding this? I ask this here because I noticed on a few videos of Leon as well as many other professional time trialists that they often do this too. I assume it is however not good for consistent power production.
If your saddle is tilted nose down, that will make you fall forward. If you use the up angle that is popular now, that will give your elbows something to pushback against and stop the slide too. The other thing is you may be subconsciously doing it for comfort. Sliding forwards opens up the hip angle making the top of the stroke where your knee is the highest more comfortable. This is called “on the rivet,” professional road riders do it because they are restricted how far forward their saddle can be. It’s actually better for power because of the more open hip angle. What it’s not good for is sitting on the perinium. So you can also try moving your saddle forward.
Do you think you could race on a tandem ? I so would you trust yourself to pilot or would you be the stoker?
Looking forwards to the GTN vs GCN tandem challenge!
And the GTN guys can borrow Guy Martin's recumbent tandem...
This is a great idea!

Fantastic entertainment 👏 👍
Looking forward to a rematch over the full Ironman distance
Guys, get training for the Bishops Castle tandem tri, one swims, both ride, the other runs, a great event!
Sounds like a cool concept!
Agreed...bring joe skipper & mybe can do a collaboration wt triathlon mockery wt his sparring partner tom...that be fun!
Dura-ace disc in the front, ultegra disc in the back, my inner Monk is disturbed
The parts shortage hits the pros too haha
Windy at Castle Combe? Well I never...🤣
That's so funny . I am a registered blind triathlete but I would rather tough it out on my own than engage in that kind of craziness xxxxx
Love you guys! Great content as always!
Glad you enjoy it!
I ❤ James giggling & losing it on the bike! 🤭
Hilarious stuff! More like this please. This could be come the GTN equivalent of Top Gear's star in a reasonably priced car.
Haha, that sounds great!
Would it be possible to have a race or something at the original Top Gear track at the BBC? Maybe race the Stig...
I ride a tandem often, it works best if the captain in heavier than the stoker, and if the stoker closes their eyes.
This is the best! I see more tandem challenges in your future 🤪🤩
Thanks Brandon! Us too!!
Wondering what brand of heated gloves that James is using. I really need them for cold weather
Hi Niel, The brand is Vulcan!
they used to race tandems on the velodrome - that mustve been terrifying!
Great vid guys. Where can we buy those GTN jackets you’re wearing? Cheers
😆 ad un certo punto gli ha chiesto di non scorreggiare 😂.
Great tips as usual 👌thanks!
Do your bikes come with a warranty?
Don't think just pedal is going to.be my mantra for '22!
What did Leon have under the rear of his saddle?
I wonder if the GTN crew would have been faster if they had borrowed GCN's CYFAC tandem.
Marvelous
That had to have been terrifying

That was fun
There is a huge chunky windblock on the rearseat! 🙂
Invite a paratri team and see how they do it on the tandem
“Don’t think, just petal.”
Lucy?
Tandems are unbelievably dangerous. They handle like a road train
Super fast in a straight line
Thankfully we were on a closed circuit!
Tandem triathlon could catch on?
Or is that a hexathlon?
