Thank you for sharing your experience. I had a miscarriage and dnc and I feel your emotional and physical pain. Your baby is with the Lord! Hallelujah! You will meet your precious child when the Lord calls you home 🙏
I am so sorry you're in this position right now. 💔 I am glad that this was helpful to you, but I wish none of us ever had to deal with this. 😢 I'm sending prayers your way. 💞
I just found out that I have a miscarriage today at almost 8 weeks. I started having light vaginal bleeding over a week ago and had 2 ultrasounds that showed baby’s heartbeat even with the bleeding. The baby stopped growing sometime after last week visit. It’s very heart breaking. This is my first pregnancy at 37 years old. My husband and I have been trying for over a year and finally got pregnant after the first IUI. 😭😢 I’m gonna take Cytotec as well. Please wish me luck. Thank you for sharing your experience.
I'm so sorry. I hope the physical side of things have gone as smoothly as possible for you. 😔 And then of course the emotions can be a rollercoaster. Praying for you. ❤️
Thank you. I'm potentially going through my 11th miscarriage. 😭 Yes. Really. ELEVEN. 😭😭😭 my numbers are really low rising and I've been spotting for the past few days. My 5th loss I had no choice but to get a D&C because I went into full blown labor in excruciating pain and my body would just not let it go. So im choosing cytotec this time and I finally have a doc that is willing to run every test under the sun to figure out what's wrong with me. ☹️
Oh Jessica, my heart breaks for you. It hurts so much each time. 😭 I haven't yet shared in a video but I actually had a third miscarriage in January. 😭💔 Please feel free to connect with me on Instagram @tangerineblissmama or on Facebook if you want to keep in touch. I will be praying for you. 💞 I hope that they can get more answers for you!
Thanks for sharing this video. It’s not easy going through a miscarriage let alone a surgical procedure to empty whatever is left behind. I’m going through it myself right now, and I seriously don’t want to go through a D&C. I feel for me the best option would be the pill, I’ll be at home with my husband for support and in the comfort of my house I don’t see it another way.. Thank you so much for opening up about this personal experience and I hope this video helps other women who are going through this have a better understanding of what to expect. Again THANK YOU SO MUCH ❤️❤️❤️
You're welcome. ❤️ I'm so sorry you've been going through this. I hope you are able to have a smooth physical recovery, and be gentle with yourself because the waves of emotions come and go and it's not something we just get over. Sending you lots of love!
I might be one of those people who handles low hemoglobin pretty well. Don't get me wrong..I felt like crap. I knew something was wrong...but I "stayed standing" in my doctor's words. My doc did blood work and my hemoglobin was 5...yes FIVE..it should be between 12 and 15. My doctor called and told me to get to the hospital I needed a transfusion. I said "do I have to?" She said "yes. I am trying to keep you standing. Honestly, I don't know how you are still standing and walking around with a hemoglobin of 5? GO NOW....do NOT drive yourself !"
Thank you so much for sharing, I had made up my mind to do the dnc because i didn’t want to have any surprises while at work but I haven’t been able to find a dr. I wasn’t sure about the cytotec but this video help me understand the process so much better. Thank you again for sharing and im soo sorry for your loss 😔
Soo much information! Thanks for making this video ... I went to 2 ultrasounds at 8 weeks and no heartbeat detected... so I am just trying to stay informed.. asked my Dr to get HCG tests done just in case , but I think I am going to to the home plan . Blessings for u and I am sorry this happened.
My baby had heart beat three weeks ago and yesterday I went for ultrasound and there was no heartbeat 😢 I’m suppose to be 9 weeks and my baby measured 6 weeks, doctor gave me both options and I chose cytotec I just took it now I’m so scared 😢😢💔
No thank you for this video you uplifted me and made me feel okay and if you can do it I can too thank you so much I’m sorry for your losses as well ❤️
Thank you for sharing your experience, so sorry for your loss. I opted for medical management , I took the tablets yesterday orally and nothing has happened yet , its been roughly 36 hours.
I'm so sorry for your loss. I've heard of that happening. To my knowledge, sometimes it takes multiple doses. 😔 Hopefully you can connect with your health care provider about it very soon. ❤️
We just found out my HCG levels were low at 7 weeks. Didn’t want D&C and took the Misoprostol. HORRIBLE experience, so so painful, Aleve did nothing. Supposed to take four pills vaginally every 8 hours. Couldn’t bear to do it a second time but I may have to to ensure the sac comes out. Absolutely emotionally and physically draining.
I'm so sorry. 😰 Since I've had this multiple times now, I know now that depending on who prescribes you the medicine, sometimes a pain prescription and anti-nausea prescription are given as well. I bet if you call the office where you were seen you can probably speak with a nurse and request something stronger to help with the pain. It might be that they would just send that prescription in right away to the pharmacy for you.
@@TangerineBliss thank you! And yes you are absolutely right! I messaged my doctor today and he prescribed 800mg of ibuprofen. Was brave enough just now to take the second dose. Hopefully it’s not as horrible as the first time. Thank you for sharing your story, definitely don’t feel alone in this ❤️
This video was super helpful. I found out yesterday (at 11 weeks) that my baby had stopped growing at 4 weeks. I had a similar experience in may and I was 14 weeks and my baby stopped growing at 4. I had a D&C for my first miscarriage. But this time, with my work schedule, it looks like I am having to go the cytotec route

How long did it take for HCG to go back to normal? My process is taking too long and I’m getting frustrated. I found out I was pregnant on sept 20th. I had my first HCG done on the 23rd, 221. On October 1st I started bleeding heavily so they wanted me to do another HCG and ultrasound. My HCG was 13297 on the 1st. On the 7th I had another HCG with results at 2007. I was prescribed cytotec on the 8th but didn’t take it until the 9th. It was oral and the cramps were horrible but the diarrhea was the worst. I had another HCG on the 21st at 1447, again on the 23rd at 1487. The doctor gave me the option on d&c or cytotec again. I opted for the cytotec in hopes of not having a surgery medical bill. I asked for more pills this time in hopes of it working. I started it last Friday and it wasted until Saturday night. This time I didn’t cramp but the diarrhea was horrible. However, on Monday my HCG was 907 and today it was 727. I go in tomorrow for a follow up and he already said he wants me to do cytotec again. I am done with this and so over it. I really don’t want to do the cytotec again because the diarrhea. I literally couldn’t keep anything in me. I was in the restroom every 30 minutes. Maybe I should ask about inserting them instead of oral. Thought the RUclips videos I have seen it doesn’t seem to give people diarrhea when inserted but does when taken orally. I’m really worried that something is wrong. I do only have 1 ovary, I have done removed last November due to an 8.8 cm cyst. I just need some guidance please
I'm so sorry you're going through this. ☹️ I have heard that the HCG numbers can take quite a while to go down. I can only tell you based on my experience inserting the cytotec, I had cramping but no diarrhea. Feel free to send me a direct message on Instagram if you want to chat more, since this is all public right here, and I know it's all really personal and hard to talk about. ❤️
I asked my pharmacist about how to take the medication. I took mine orally. Ive had to do it a few times. Sometimes my levels took a while to drop also. Misoprotol works by disrupting folic acid reception so the cells stop growing/dividing, so do not take prenatals or anything with folic acid. It stops all rapidly growing cell growth, everywhere in your body. So many side effects are possible. I always had a hard time on this drug but in my mind it was better than D&C. Its basically like a cancer fighting drug. My mom was doing chemo at the time and it really made me understand what she was going through. Hang in there and talk to your doctor or pharmacist. Feel your pain girl! Stay strong!
@@sethpainter7143 I think you might be talking about methotrexate injections (chemotherapy) and not misoprostol pills (prostaglandin) that they are discussing here
I will be 17.5 weeks when I have my abortion and am wondering which method is best (Downs). I wonder if things change at 17.5 weeks as I will obviously see the head/feet/hands etc.. And now with Covid I will be alone at the hospital.
I don't know much about how it works for an elective abortion at that gestation, but if you go to the hospital you might be getting a surgical abortion which would likely involve medication to soften and dilate you on one day and then going back in the next day for the surgeon to use suction and instruments to remove the baby and placenta. Were you given options to choose from? I'm under the impression that you'd have a higher level of care and likely less pain at a hospital vs a clinic, particularly that far along, given the anesthesia and everything available at the hospital. That might be something you can ask about depending on the options you're considering. Also covid definitely makes things more challenging regarding not having someone with you, but the hospital would probably offer you some medication for anxiety, and just going off of my hospital experiences, everyone has always been very caring, so hopefully that would be some comfort to you. I shared a picture on Instagram of my baby that made it to 15 weeks, your son or daughter would look a lot like that if you what you do involves seeing the baby. To my knowledge, Down syndrome causes some physical and intellectual disabilities generally at a moderate level, so your baby already has cute little fingers and toes, a face that probably resembles others in your family, etc. I hope you haven't been made to feel scared that you couldn't handle caring for a baby with Down syndrome; there is a lot of support available for families who have a child with special needs, and thankfully in the U.S. everyone has a place in our society. 💞 Feel free to message me directly on Instagram if you don't want to keep the conversation going here.
@@TangerineBliss This isn't my real name we can converse here if that's OK. I just subbed you in Insta with my real account. I'm not interested in a special needs child. I have a very healthy son who is gifted and I love the process of seeing him excel and look forward to the day he moves out and I can watch him live his life from afar. It's a beautiful process and I am not scared of Downs it's just not the life I want to live. My marriage is is too important and I love how as the child grows up (healthy children) they gain more and more independence. It's beautiful and healthy. I would rather abort and try again. Will you be trying again for a 4th? Also, your instagram post says 17.5 weeks but I'm assuming the fetus was dated as being 15w? I'm not sure if I want to see my son's fetus as I'm not sure if it will do more harm than good psychologically but I'm talking to him and will hold him in my heart for the rest of my life. I've already seen 5 ultrasounds and it's heartbreaking. So you labored this recent miscarriage? I know you said your past D&C was a lot of blood loss and you preferred induced labor. What type of pain relief did you opt for this time around (local anesthesia, general anesthesia, etc). I will definitely be at the hospital. I wanted to proceed a week ago once I received the karyotype chromosomal defect 100% confirmed but due to Covid things are taking a while. I will finally meet with the dr on Tuesday and as far as I can tell we will discuss the options from there and proceed ASAP. Right now D&C might be more straightforward but I'm curious how labor would be at this point as well. I heard labor can take several days though.. I have the next 3 days to research my abortion options (D&C or induction) so I can discuss my preference with the dr. Sorry for your loss. You have a beautiful family. I really appreciate your feedback as you seem to be very in touch with your body and what it needs to heal.
@@katierose1893 Thank you for sharing all of that, I have a better understanding of where you're coming from now. For clarity, the latest miscarriage video I made was about my loss a few months ago titled "Miscarriage at 18 weeks + Postpartum Infection" which you can see here if you want: ruclips.net/video/7_YWDFi8Z50/видео.html When I miscarried in the hospital, it was really nice for me being able to hold my baby, take pictures, and say goodbye. I know that being induced doesn't always work quickly for everyone, but in my case only two rounds of cytotec were needed (they give it 4 hours apart). Of course it does take a while to get blood drawn and get everything ready and then keep an eye on you after everything has come out to make sure your blood loss is good, etc., so I would say a reasonable expectation is at least a solid day at the hospital, but that could easily become a day and a half (if not more, if that's what you've heard, but I can't speak to that personally). In my case, though, with losing a lot of blood after my D&C and then briefly passing out at one point, that too ended up being an entire day at the hospital, so the timeframe was fairly equal for me.
@@katierose1893 Yeah, the possibility of the placenta not coming out or even just not fully coming out was a concern cited to me as well. For me, I decided if I could avoid surgery that would be great so I'd at least try it. I don't know what the statistics are regarding those circumstances of needing to follow up with a D&C but I'm very grateful that once the induction was set in motion for me, my body was able to carry it out to completion placenta and all. It sounds like you have an awesome doula. ❤️ I agree with the waves analogy, and my kids have been a great distraction as well. Sometimes I have to give myself time to grieve because there is so much else going on. It's a strange feeling being pregnant one day and then suddenly not being pregnant anymore, so that's something I've had to process in those first few days as well. And the sad feeling almost like the baby never existed, but he or she did. For me, it has felt good to have some kind of keepsake to remember each one of my babies I lost. I would encourage you to get something to remember your baby, maybe a necklace or an angel ornament for example. Having something tangible to pull out of a drawer and look at while you process can be helpful.
@@TangerineBliss my doula has 27 years experience I'm just super lucky. I've released all the guilt. She even told me that Jewish and Muslim religions are very open to abortions as life is hard enough so it's not like every single religion is against it. My abortion is tomorrow. My doula reminded me that it's OK not to do things naturally (due to Covid I just want it to be done and go be back home). She also reminded me that it's OK to get help via medications. I will ask for anti anxiety medications the instant I arrive tomorrow morning. Also, I have a sleeping pill to take tonight. I haven't slept in days and my hands are shaking as my nervous system is in overdrive from the state of shock I've been in all month. I'm being kind to myself. You are lucky you were able to deliver the placenta, I just don't want any surprises and I was told the majority would still require this additional surgery. When they inserted the laminara today to dialate the cervix I screamed STOP and started to cry. It was just too much (physically and emotionally). I thought I would be able to handle it but I was shaking like crazy. It's just too much to handle. A compassionate nurse stayed by my side and I was squeezing her arm. She was so so supportive. Nurses like this are just angels. I love the idea of a necklace, that would be a good way to carry him with me in memory and have reminders. The doula helped me see that he has his own journey and perhaps he was meant to just be on this planet for the few weeks that he was here. I'm very attached to my only child. This is also helping me detach from my son and appreciate his own journey. I detach and let what is be but I don't disassociate. Honoring the other's journey as it is not my own and perhaps has nothing to do with me .
First thanks so much for your Video. Im about to make a decision what i choose. My baby stopped growing at a very early stage. I think im going for the cytotec option as well .

Just one thing you are really not supposed to take a bath because your uterus is still open after it and it may cause serious infection (thats at least what i learned) thanks again
I'm so sorry you're going through this. 💔 I'm glad my sharing was helpful to you. 💞
