The infamous plot that kept Bob Reed on the sidelines for this episode, and potentially written out of the next season too, if they hadn’t gotten cancelled. It was just as well; Greg’s graduation was a fairly decent Swan Song, although something with all of them would have bracketed the wedding episode pilot nicely. Now the Brady Bunch lives on here, there, and our memories.
I agree Mike Brady would not miss his Son Special night. But at the same time I can see & understand why Robert Reed didn't like the story. It was sad Mike was not in The last Esp.
Kimberly Drummond from Diff'rent Strokes also had her hair change color while trying out a new shampoo with rain water. Only hers changed to green, not orange.
If Robert Reed hadn't had that dispute. I think the series would've carried on for at least 1 more year. I think the best final episode would've involved Sam & Alice getting married
Nope, It was already down in the ratings and the kid's agents were asking for more money so it was doomed but 5 seasons and years of reruns is nothing to sneeze at.
I remembered when Greg’s brought Bobby’s Neat & Natural Hair Tonic when his hair turns bright orange 🍊, Greg’s furious. I remembered he’s try shampoo 🧴 it several times, especially Carol’s took Greg’s to her beauty salon especially he’s saw some of friends there getting their hairstyle 💁♀️ done for graduation 👩🎓 as well. All they had to do is write a different tag for the ending that didn’t show the family coming home from graduation, so they didn’t have to add that ridiculous line about Mike being out of town.
I agree you could have Florence Henderson walk down the steps to the house and say we’re so happy and proud of you. Dad is at the store getting ice cream. You didn’t need to see him, but they say he’s on a business meeting was stupid by the writers.
Interesting point, but I guess the script had been written for the family to make an entry after the graduation ceremony--and the simplest thing was to have Mike Brady absent.
I agree the writers and produces should have tweaked it a little bit and caved into Robert ! They should’ve just changed it in a sense with Bobby was selling something. Maybe his skin broke out or just something but definitely tweak. It’s always there. I remember watching this in reruns as a kid. Florence Henderson‘s character told him he sorry I missed graduation because he’s on a business meeting I thought why would he do that, 😂
I feel sorry for those rabbits in that little cage, they need to move. I hope they weren´t many hours inside there. I usually pain for the poor animals that use in shows. I had 2 rabbits for 10 years and never ever they´ve been in al cage like that, they were free.
I actually thought this was a really funny episode! 😂 I never understood why Robert Reed didn’t like it. The worst episode to me was the UFO in the backyard one. 🛸😂
Robert Reed thought the idea of someone buying a bulk quantity of hair tonic to sell from a magazine ad was well out of date by 1974. It was better suited to the 1950s. Apparently he also didn't think it was possible for faulty hair tonic to turn someone's hair orange.
Ever see the Brady Movie with shelly long plays Carol? Pretty funny. Tim Matheson tries to scam them, and ends up eating a bunch of mushrooms and starts "Trippin with the Bradys"
I love how Oliver went from declining Cindy's offer because he was already bobby's assistant but after seeing how angry Greg was he just decided I'll be your assistant after all.
In the next episode, (which was written but never filmed as the show was canceled), the 2 rabbits died shortly after Jan and Marcia's double date with Greg and Peter.
Since the tonic lightened Greg's hair from brown to orange, it most likely contained a low volume level of bleach that brought out the underlying pigment of Greg's level 5 brown hair. All it would do for Marcia's and Jan's hair is make it a lighter blonde (e.g. a level 9 to a level 10).
The character that they needed the most for the graduation episode, I admire Robert 's principles.

He was correct about the ridiculous plot
@@timothykozlowski3346 What did Reed think he was in, Shakespeare?
After all those years, the last episode was just so sad because it should’ve been so much more
Married with Children also deserved a better Series finale
At least Cindy seemed a little bit sympathetic toward Greg...
I agree Mike Brady would not miss his Son Special night.

This episode needs more attention to me to keep this show alive until 1976. Without Mike Brady it was really sad to me. God rest Robert Reed.
His graduation was the next day and hr eas going to it with.. orange hair

Acid rain in a copper bowl plus her shampoo.

I would have liked to see Greg and Marcia get married.

Greg should dumped the hair tonic on Peter and Cousin Oliver.

No way on Dog's green Earth Mike Brady would have missed his oldest son's graduation.

The part when Sam was caught sneaking in a 3am. Mike asked what he was doing there so late. "Just bringing Alice the meat".

Peter makes a very intelligent decision. 😂
The show's plotlines were getting silly in that last season anyways, personified by this one. Perhaps it was time for it all to end anyways.
In the next episode, (which was written but never filmed as the show was canceled), the 2 rabbits died shortly after Jan and Marcia's double date with Greg and Peter.
All the writers had to do was say "reed is at a job site after watching bobby graduate" sheesh.
It’s not orange it’s bark blonde

All the crazy episodes in the past 5 years, and this is the one that Miss Robert Reed said was too much??
Actually the hair color suits him.
They needed to show Carol in a bikini.
I'm sorry to say Greg brought this one on himself, he wanted to try Bobby's hair tonic.

Put the hair tonic in Marcia and Jan's hair.
