Sorry about your loss. I lost my grandma 10 years ago (1 is still living) and I still miss her. As of tomorrow all 7 members of BTS will be fulfilling their mandatory military service and we won't see the 7 of them together til June 2025. But I hope you will continue your BTS journey. There has been so much content over the past 10 years not to mention over 300 songs.
Black male artist can pull off makeup. A few that come to mind… MJ, Prince, Little Richard, Lil Nas X. People in our community need to let go of the stereotypes and homophobia and just live.

Technically, anyone that does music videos or movies is wearing makeup. Stage makeup to be precise. Even rappers. Its to protect your skin from harsh lighting that damages the skin and enhance your features
There are plenty of actors that have had really bad skin problems due to not wearing stage makeup and those harsh lights burning them or their scalp (for men) 🤷🏾♀️
Black men do wear stage makeup, tho. That's what they were talking about wearing makeup on camera, which every single person on camera, commercial, music video, tv show, and movie they get makeup done.

I don't know if you are aware but all the members of BTS have to serve their mandatory military service. Jin and J-Hope are now serving as drill instructors, JIN is a Sergeant and J-Hope is a Corporal. Both are thriving. SUGA enlisted in alternative service for his shoulder injury, and today - RM and V enlisted, and tomorrow JIMIN and JUNGKOOK will be enlisted. They all have to serve 18 month. They will come back together in 2025. All of them will be back by June of 2025. JIN and J-Hope in 2024, because they entered the earliest.

Helpful hint for the guide: Not sure if you know.... Korean people counted age differently to others...
Korean Age vs International Age - difference is 1-2 years depending on if their birthday has been.... In most older videos, including this guide, they are giving Korean ages so you will need to adjust.
The members were only 13-18 years old when they became trainees and 15-20 yo when they debuted.
In Korea when you are born you are considered 1 year old. Then on lunar newyear every year you add another year to your age, no matter what your birthdate is. ....
Year of birth - International age at Debut on 13June13 (Year and age became trainee)
Jin 1992 - 20 yo (2011 - 18yo)
Suga 1993- 20 yo (2011 - 17yo) Suga started with MIDI at 11
JHope 1994 - 19 yo (2011 - 17yo)JHope started dancing at 8
RM 1994 - 18 yo (2010 - 15yo) RM started rapping at 11 and was well known in the underground scene at 13
Jimin 1995 - 17 yo (2012 - 16yo)
V 1995 - 17 yo (2011 - 15yo)
JK 1997 - 15 yo (2011 - 13yo) JK signed with big hit at 13yo
Rule of thumb - if it's before their birthday - subtract 2 years to get international age. if it's after their birthday - subtract 1 year to get their international age.
The Korean Government has recently (June28) brought in international age as the standard in Korea, but all older videos/ interviews/ shows, will be referencing Korean age.

ALL SEVEN are so talented, it's just incredible. I have NEVER seen any group, (western included) like them. Might say the Beatles but who else? All of them can write songs, produce, arrange, sing and dance. I'm not completely new, but I still have a lot of ground to cover, loving their solo projects as well, just insane! To realize that J Hope learned to rap only after joining BTS, Jin learning to sing and dance AFTER joining. The amount of effort they put into mastering, not just performing and singing, but mastering ALL of their art, is why whatever they put out is highly ranked or whatever you want to say, they put their BEST into everything. The different genres they do, man...they don't get stuck in one genre, amazing. They are quite frankly, AMAZING!!!2025, is not too far away, maybe by then I'll have watched all their videos, listened to ALL of their music....lol, doubt it, so much GREAT material. Thank you for sharing.

I hope you are enjoying the guide, one of BTS songs is Life Goes On. In the guide she says JK age, he was actually only 13 when he joined Bighit company and moved to live with the guys in Seoul, and 15 when they debuted.
As you said BTS have it covered with the best of every craft, but also they are all seven, the best of human beings.
For a song when you are feeling grief and sad memories I recommend Spring Day, just indulge your grief and move on.

With regard to black men not wearing makeup, as another commentor stated EVERYONE wears makeup for tv, films & video and most likely on stage at concerts as well.
Also, it was only with the advent of gangsta rap that black men stopped wearing makeup. Little Richard was wearing eyeliner in the 1950's, and then Prince & Michael Jackson wore makeup in the 1980's. Even Dr Dre wore eyeliner befire NWA!
I am pretty sure little Richard secretly invented make up!

My bias is RM beside being the main rapper, composer and songwriter of the group with more than 215 songs credits under his name , he's also the leader and the reason the CEO of their company decided to form the band because he saw how talented he is and wanted to definitely make him depute,BTS wouldn't be here without him 💙

First of all joon is the main songwriter of the band ,he writes his part and the vocal line parts ,and participate in other members solos ,yoongi in the last 5 years wrote maybe 4 songs at most for the band besides his parts ,and secondly you should go and watch bang bd nim interview when he said he wanted to make sure that RM deput because of how talented he is and then he started to go looking for hiphop ..stop trying to discreet joon and his impact on BTS career

Gotta check out jungkook featuring usher- standing next to me. Collaboration of the year! Jungkook is a member in the world biggest male group bts. That will probably be his last performance since he is enlisting in the military and be out in 2025 or so. All male south korean citizen has to serve 1 1/2 years of military which is mandatory even if your a millionaire or celebrity. War with north korea is on hold for decades now but officially never ended so hence the mandatory enlistment

Family and I lost our great grandmother on Dec 11th 2017 a week before Christmas and it just wasn’t the same after b/c she was always the holiday hostess of almost every holiday family gatherings. We miss her deeply especially our great grandfather who was married for 63+ years old.

JK is phenomenal but even JK says its due to his bandmates that he is who he is. Plus just doing a pop album in english will get you a lot of attention because the music industry is corrupt to begin with when it comes to non english speaking artists. No member is better they are all amazing. BTS we’re encouraged always to work out their differences and respect each other. That’s why they are still a group and love each other as family

You actually put kook and Harlow. You put Jack Harlow's last name what you didn't put Jungkook's family name you chopped off half his given name. my name is Robert if you did to my name what you did to Jungkook's name.
you would have my name as ert but my name is Robert. in the United States it's my first name the name my parents gave me. my last name is my family name. In Korea their family name is written first the name their parents gave them is written second, it's not their first name and their last name. it's their family name and their given name. And they also encourage each other to explore and try new things expand their talents and don't expect each other just to do the same thing all the time. They believe in artist development most groups break up because the members get pushed into doing the same thing all the time so as individual they don't get to experiment so they get frustrated and leave.

BTS don't call each other by their family names. they refer to each other by their given names the names their parents gave them at birth.

Most artists when they perform live or on camera have some kind of stage makeup on. even if it's bebe cream or just foundation. Stage lights make you look dead most of the time if you don/t so I guarantee you that all the well-known black musicians you know wear make-up too. it's just not obvious (artists like Bruno Mars and Usher have known makeup artists). I mean some are obvious for example Prince or The Weekend.
If you look up ad campaigns with black (or any) athletes, you can look up the photographer, stylist, and makeup artist for those campaigns.
- I majored in Theatre and tech theatre so I don't know much but I'm sure of this.
also, the Wembley moment is even more amazing because they sold out a stadium that seats 90,000 in 90 minutes. That is it was most European fans. 90,000 European fans sang a song in Korean to 7 boys.
bts was said to have donated to help the blm movement. that does not mean the money went to the problematic foundation. none of my donations went there. let's remember the movement and the foundation are not synonymous.

I lost my paternal grandma (97) 2 months ago and my maternal grandma (92) possibly within a month or two from now so I get it. 🥺 I hope it won't dampen your holiday spirit too much though. She'll always be with you in your heart and who knows - maybe she even held a hand over you in the car crash. I wish you both a very merry christmas and a purple new year. 💜

Thanks for watching Taylor's wonderful video, but I do want to make one comment. BTS ARE one of the best bands of all time.
But they are not ALL the best at EVERYTHING they do. Many people criticise them, and BTS acknowledge their weaknesses and work on them - they are still trying to get better! Nearly all of them came into training with NO EXPERIENCE at all of important skills they would need: JHope had never rapped, RM and Suga had never danced (and did not want to), Jimin had never sung, and Jin had neither sung NOR danced.
They all learned during training, but funds were lacking for that, and eg Jimin had to deput with them after only about a year, so he and others had to continue to learn on the job too. Jin and RM are still diffident about their dance skills (and make fun of each other for it), Jimin was criticised a lot in the early years for singing errors and remains very self critical to this day.
They each taught each other. Jimin tagegd along to Jin and JK's singing lessons, and back home at night they tried to help him reproduce what they had learned in class. None of the others knew anything about hip hop music when they started, so RM and Suga held a hip hop academy for them each night in the dorms, making playlists and then discussing the music with them (at the same time as spending the night until dawn writing new songs). JHope as dance leader selflessly helps individuals with extra support learning dance routines. They know their own and every others' weaknesses and constantly support each other to grow and improve.
None of them would be comfortable to be called "the best" at anything, but they all feel that as part of BTS they are more than they are as individuals. M\ay idol groups contain people with personal animosities and envy and bullying is not unknown. Perhaps BTS is 'the best' at being together and helping each other.
Actually what he said is accurate. He didn't mean every single member is the best in every single area. You have World class level singing JK Jin, and other very Great voices;, you have World Class rapping RM Suga Jhope (and they haven't even watched Ugh! Explained by a Korean to start to realize their, especially RM's, genius lyricism,), and JK and others can rap as well; you have World Class dancing Jimin Jhope JK and the others are Great dancers especially V, and Suga too, the instructor at Steezy said if Jin was balancing on his heels instead of center of his foot he would become the best dancer in the group, they all are great, BTS has the best dancers in kpop; World class production and as mentioned, writing. Add each member is a superstar with superstar charisma/performing and that's the Best Group of All Time

Because the ones that set up BLM did it as a scam. It ended up hurting the black community more afterwards because of all the hate they got through no fault of their own.
Basically it was revealed that the people that were collecting funds associated with the cause were using for themselves and it was a fraudulent operation

funny because actually today army just decided that their 6 year old song spring day should be on top of itunes. so fans just started buying it and now it´s nr 1 in US UK and japan and 80 countries in total. and there is only 109 countries with itunes i think it is. so that BTS has fans in all countries around th world who is powerful enough to get a old song to nr 1 is crazy. V´s song had 108 nr 1´s on ithunes at once.
we are also very organized. people often compare us to the beatles fans or taylor swift fans. very passioned and active. i feel so proud of BTS and army we have been through so much
American rappers also have makeup on when on stage or during special appearances. You have to be or your skin will look washed out due to the lights, also the harshness if the lights can affect your skin too
