People forget or don’t know this, but larry wheels brought arm wrestling into the light. Only a small percentage of people knew about it before but cus of him, it’s made a massive difference. Well done larry 👍

I like these! He definitely looks beatable but AW is such a specialized sport that most people simply don't know how to use their body properly to generate force efficiently.

I take MMA so my instant muscle reaction would probably be to dig my feet into the ground and turn my hips and shoulders into wherever I want their hand to go; but that also seems bad for myself because if I don’t generate enough force I’m throwing myself off balance, so it’s a risky play but I’d try it.
@@DennisHeenan I think what's happening here is that nerdboy is sliding his elbow backward on his pad once the match starts. This murders the challenger's leverage by forcing them to either extend their forearm or slide their own elbow forward away from their body.
I've noticed our "nerd" starts each match close to the front and ends at the back of his pad. Conversely the challengers always seem to end up about to slide off the front.
I personally love these videos. I always want one to happen near me so that I can act like I don’t know how to arm wrestle, then hit them with everything I have!

I think it’s interesting how I JUST had this idea come to me from seeing that video where someone else does this and some older guy comes in and just dominates everyone they brought to make this type of video 😂. @@badandy1983 thats' definitely an exaggeration, to put it politely. i'm 6'6 and 180lb, and moderately leaner than that "nerd". so he looks at least 180lbs, maybe 190lbs depending on how much the drop of one inch height (relative to me) fills him out.
This guy is an arm wrestler who knows what he's doing and always puts his shoulder and body weight into it. In Australia whenever I tried it I was required to use arm movement only, and not touch anything with the free arm or legs. I always thought it was about arm strength but now I know it is mostly technique and specific training. That's why Devon could easily beat the strongest men in the world who never trained that movement.

My then-115 lb. mom was always a very good arm wrestler. about 10 yrs ago, when I was about 43 and she was about 73, I had to go at about 97% to beat her, and I remember in my teenage years, I couldn't beat her. She's in a home now and weighs about 85 lbs. a few mos back, I asked the nurse (a very tough/"butch" type) to arm wrestler her. She thought it was "cute," but the moment they locked hands and she felt my mom's strength, her reaction was "Oh, wow!"

He pulls back amongst of other things. It’s not pushing the hand to the pad, it’s pulling the opponent to you while you hit the pad. I’m no expert but that’s why a “smaller” guy can land these really big guys
I arm wrestle for a club, youre right, hes using a technique called a top-roll. You pull their hand towards you and roll over putting immense pressure on their fingers and wrist.
So cool to see these kind of videos. Someday you will find a natural talent that will give you a challenge. Stay save make sure nobody gets hurt

@@jrodimusprime well they live an hour apart now so I’m sure they have pulled, and if they haven’t then I’m sure they will start soon. Larry can also easily train at mendes gym in LA or at Allen Fishers gym in San Diego. Moving to LA was a great move for his arm wrestling career.

8:47 after gripping, he locks his hips to the table, pulls his opponent toward himself, their hands are connected literally almost over the "nerds" pad. His body straightened up (he is lenghty, but a reff wouldnt allow this kind of advantage), his opponent reaching half way across table. The nerds elbow point in the middle of his pad. The black shirt guys elbow almost falling off of his. The fight is over before it even started.

you would think at some point after observing somebody would realize that he breaks his wrist, leverages his body, stays close to the table and bends his knees, whereas everybody else does not bend their body, distance themselves from the table, keeps a linear wrist and stands tall
