I'm getting twenty 3-4 inches butterfly koi. I was told that you're supposed to quarantine these koi before you put them into your existing pond. Is that true? Can I put them directly into our existing pond, but allowing 15 minutes for them to adjust to the temperature of our current pond? Thank you for your quick response.
It's a good idea to isolate your new koi in a separate tank for a couple of weeks before you add them into your main pond. This would allow you to observe and treat your new koi for any parasites or bacteria they might have arrived with. We realize that most of our customers do not have this ability, so we work very hard and making sure our koi are as clean as possible before we ship. This way our customers can add their koi directly into their main ponds.
Great info!! Do you have a Koi & Music channel?? I am unable to have koi but would love to watch your koi and listen to peaceful pond sounds or relaxing music while relaxing !
I want to start a 3,000 gal above ground koi pond. I don't want to release the wastewater into my yard because of the smell. Can I connect the wastewater to the sewer line? I can't find any info on this except for draining into the plants in the yard but I don't want that. Any suggestions?
Got an 9000 liter pond not sure how many galons that is tho. All my wastewater goes straight to the garden, from my Japanese maples to my vegetables theres nothing better then pond water 😁 i never even noticed any smell, flowers or rain probably takes care of it easily since it never bothered me.
@@markwilliams5852 no just a bit of smell . also, if you can, it’s wonderful for your garden trees bushes anything that’s green my evergreens grow real fast we have a half acre pond which we don’t pump. No smell whatsoever from here plus many smaller ones. Evergreens love it. It’s soaks into the ground very quickly unless you’re in a wet zone good luck
Thank you so much for sharing your expertise, it helped me a lot

Smell? If you have a proper bead filter, you should not smell anything. Also the waste water is good for the soil and plants
Why does it smell do you have enough filters
@@Maggie19701 first pond. Didn't know from personal experience, just heard a few people tell me that it will smell.
