Last week the first video of the abandoned pond came across my feed. Since then I have watched almost all of the videos on this channel, and have a new appreciation for Koi. I used to hate Koi because I found it near impossible to keep my tank clean with them in. I used to also think that they were just larger goldfish and had a mix of the two at the time. I now realise I was doing it all wrong, and Koi are amazing! Thank you so much for renewing an old love during lockdown, it has been lovely diving back into it all
That's a lot of fry. Looking forward to more videos of them to see how well they are growing and whether or not there are any standout koi among them. Cheers.
Glad see this year fish going in I never like koi tell I started watching your videos now I'm working on my own pond it's not so easy here in the states seems koi are not kept alot but your changing that ..keep up the awsome videos bud
Hi Adam I had a feeling last week when you cleaned out that tank you were going to get new fry! They sure look like a nice bunch of fry will be interesting to see how they do over the months to come. Take care & enjoy the new fry! Tank looks top notch by the way!
Great video. I’m determined to get my koi past 20 inches soon. Just did a filter cleaning of my 150 gallon bio filter. Started feeding live worms every day.
Great content! Big help I am thinking of getting a small batch of 100 cuttlebrook fry next year. How long does that 10kg fry food last with 1000 fry? Thanks Jay.
I have a similar size pond set up. How many fry would you suggest. What size are they before you move them on or are you keeping them In that tank a while?
Hi Adam great video and looking forward to seeing them grow so keep the vids coming. I have a question for you, three of my butterfly koi have red tails which have been an issue for a couple of years. Water parameters all fine had them all out today, scraped and nothing showed up. A couple of fish have been flashing but nothing showing up so what advice would u offer
Great vid.. Adam in your experience the fry that are black what do they turn into, I am 5 months into a batch of fry(winter where I am now) and I have a couple black with bronze bellies and a couple that just seem black.
I got koi fry from cuttlebrook they are amazing I was so pleased with mine I got 250 when I bought mine I put them in a 130 gallon and my tank looked empty I wish I had bought 500 fry but I might get some more next year
I have to find them a home I think this will be my last fry for a while im running out of space. it's something I would like to try in the future. Thanks glad you like the videos 🙂
I have it on full all the time there is a lot of fish in there if the air is off even for an hour the ammonia levels go crazy as the filter uses the oxygen to process the ammonia it depletes the oxygen very quick if the air off.
Do you ever name any of your koi? I know you have a lot and it would be pretty difficult to name all of them but do you have any that you give a random name to?
Hi Adam, I am trying to work out the salt from a TDS meter and was wondering if you would be able to help me out at all, I have a koi with a bad eye and been advised to put her in a tank with half an ounce of salt per gallon but not got a clue how to read that on the TDS. Thanks in advance
More Fry I got some fish from Cuttlebrook I also found a bug in the pond and sent a picture to Lisa at cuttlebrook who was very helpful in informing me what it was I only had a small plastic tank for my fry and a small air stone and used a 6mm pipe for trical in and a hole in the top side with a lenght of hose pipe covered in thick filter floss which drained the water onto the plants. I have never seen you use filter wool or floss is there a reson for that ruclips.net/video/rpvu2IHe8p4/видео.html
Sweet mate nice one I like seeing ur fry as you know exactly what you doing it helps me right out with my ones i got 500 off them this year and it a bit harder than I fort it would be to look after them thanks tho mate
I hope you have learnt a-lot more since this video. Posting things like this teaches others to do it all wrong. A5 degree water change is way too much for a grown fish let alone fry. You should be putting them in a bowl and slowly increasing temp over several hrs. Also you should never move fish of any size from plain water straight into water with treatment in it. The salt should be added in stages over several days. The stress you caused these fry really didnt do them any favours. 😢😢 Also the salt should be dissolved before adding to the pond not just dumped in

Adam how long do you hold the salt level for ? I'm currently treating for costia & have it at .09% & holding it for a week.
Looking good there mate 👌 have you never thought about getting fry from Adam Byer Koi Farm
How do you keep nitrite down mine seems to be high constantly lol big filter too
i would empty fish into a net myself once that bag opens and contacts air it can go super toxic (drop and plop)
Hi mate love your vids thank you for sharing. I was wondering, and my apologies if I missed it but do you sell koi? If so where would like to visit 👍
the fish be like, ait boys it's time for a battle royale. the one who stayed the longest in the blue tub wins.
Hi how are your new koi fry doing have you lost any of them thanks
Great video! Where do you sell the koi? I am interested to buy some, thanks 😊
Any casualties this year? If not thats an improvement from the last times.
That bag reminds me of an advanced version of Nemo
What di you do with them after buddy do you sell them 🤔 I'd be interested regards chris
What are you going to do with so many fish?
great vid adam how much salt per gal please
Thats a lot of fishies, whats the survival rate of that many?
What on earth do you do with all these fish? How many roughly do you have left from last years 1000?
He sells it.
What do you use all these babies for?
What is that yellow weight that you used to hold the mesh down please?
Had cuttlebrook already sorted them for quality or is it suck it and see?
What did you do with all your fish. You seem to buy a lot of fish
Just waiting on my delivery would you always recommend Salting the water to 0.75%? I’ve seen people not use salt at all? Any help.
I would recommend using salt with fry the short answer is it makes things a lot easier for you and the fry.
@@AdamJulyan ok I have some on order will you suggest for me to go upto 0.75% ? I have no trickle system available to me
Afternoon Adam, hope you’re well.
Can you recommend a silicone to use on my window that I’m About install on my pond please pal?

What happens with all of the older Koi fish? I don't know anything about fish or ponds but I just love watching these videos
Also why don't your older fish produce future fry for you?
I have to find them a home I think this will be my last fry for a while im running out of space.
it's something I would like to try in the future.
Thanks glad you like the videos 🙂
Hi, I see how much food you give them but how many times a day are you feeding them?
What are you doing with all of these fish?
Do you have the air on full all the time or do you vary it . TIA
I have it on full all the time there is a lot of fish in there if the air is off even for an hour the ammonia levels go crazy as the filter uses the oxygen to process the ammonia it depletes the oxygen very quick if the air off.
@@AdamJulyan that's great. Thank you 👍
So you want more red kois in this batch?
Can you feed the fries while the salt is not removed.?
Yes they need to be fed quite often salt has no effect on feeding
Do you ever name any of your koi? I know you have a lot and it would be pretty difficult to name all of them but do you have any that you give a random name to?

What do you do with all these fish do you sell koi if so were do I buy some
What food do you feed the fry
How long does it take a koi to grow to adult size?
How are the neighbors koi doing????????
how and where do you sale them ? :D
A small amount of these (5 of them) would look cute in a medium sized aquarium/fish tank
They would last about 6 months max
@@ryanvess6162 ☹️
Why do you add so much salt?
I've gotten fry before and I never added salt.

Hi Adam, am I able to get in touch with you, I'm wanting to build a koi pond ,I could do with help and advice, I'm in ripon North yorkshire
Waiting here for this comment to be pinned before this video blows up to millions of views
I would like to ask sir if how to reduce amonia?
Trickle fresh water and a biological filter to process it.
waat is the death rate out of 100 fish
After 2years another batch
Doesn’t that much salt kill off the beneficial bacteria in the biological filtration??????
Try a GoPro in the water.
New video vuddy

A good trickle of fresh tap water will do the job. Water changes don't help much.
