You ride both like you were handcuffed, but still shredding! Again, watching you go from a 5’ then going to a 7’6” is truly poetry in motion. Rip on, Family Ho !!!
Thanks Mason for showing us that a 7'6 can be a RipStik, a straight barrell killer and open face "Slasher" like a smaller board... I truly understand now that it's not about the size of the board but the skill of the rider. I didn't even know 7'6 surfboard could shred like that... Whenever I see videos of people charging with 7'0-7'6, there mostly using them to make barrels and then kicking out, with zero shreddinggg... You're the first person I've seen actually straight "body slamming" WAVES on a 7'6... All due respect to surf pioneers and O.G old-school surf guys, but when I watch the old school videos, they are flowy style shredding type surfing but still OG none the less... I thought my 7'6 was going to be slow and boring and have been a little apprehensive to ride it. I know I am wrong thinking like that now... I own a Channel Island Chanco 7'6 x 22 x 2 7/8 x 56L and now know because of this video it's not only a cruise size board but an oversized ocean fighter jet waiting to drop bombs and do Top Gun Tom Cruise movie, Tower "Fly By's all over the wave. Less ripping or chop-hop air-reverse cutbacks... And more style and flow ... I must say that I approve. Looks like a perfect Sunset or Pipe board. But I'd push a 7'6" at Blacks or any larger/heavier reef or beachbreak, too... Maybe with a little more volume than Mason's, however.
