Not sure if these comments are even checked anymore, but I've tried multiple things yet not only can the server not recognize me as an admin, but it doesn't recognize any of the plugins I have downloaded either.
Late comment, but as a newbie to TF2 as a whole, and an avid CS 1.6 and CS:GO player who likes to mess around with console. Can someone explain how and where we can use SourceMod and MetaMod. I was searching up how to get random maps from a mapcycle file and got this, I thought it would be some GUI in-game to ease stuff and I know I am expecting too much from modders, but then how do we use this?
I attempted to install the RTD plugin like you have in this video. I have followed all directions, but SM just doesnt seem to acknowledge the existence of the rtd.smx file for whatever reason. Any suggestions?

I don't have the sm command, and I see that the deathrun plugin's cvars are also not there.. What did I do wrong? EDIT: All I needed is change the map... Actually the map that was in the start bat file was invalid as I deleted it.

Hi! I suggest you cropping the video sometimes cause your monitor is huge af and when wathcing the video in normal mode, There is nothing that is seeable. So I always have to go in full screen to actually see anything. This is just some constructive critisism. Or somethin

you have to go to your configs folder in the sourcemod folder: C:\(server folder)\tf2\tf\addons\sourcemod\configs and then edit admin_simple.ini with a text editor. then go to steamid.io and lookup for your profile id. then copy the top steamID and type in admin_simple.ini: "(the id you copied)" "99:z" and save it. that should make you an admin/operator

i installed every thing for rtd but when i go into the chat and type in rtd or !rtd or /rtd or RTD nothing works is there some thing i missed or is it not working plz help
none of my custom plugins worked and im not sure why. i tried every single thing but nothing worked and now i am clueless on what to do. not even an error message just it plain not working

Make sure that you have read the installation instructions for the plugins carefully, as you might be missing something. Also make sure that sourcemod is working. You can check this by typing "sm" (without qoutes) in the console.
So even if you have tf2 already installed you still need to make a separate folder for the server right? I shouldn't just put all these plugins in my steam folder, or can I?
I have some troubles. When My friends try to join it does the "failed after 4 retries" thing.How do I use commands as admin? Also please do an updated version of this. Some stuff has changed. Pls help. If you're feeling really nice you could add me on steam and help me with this through a steam or discord call.
You can always get the admin plugin to fix this or create a server.cfg in the cfg part of your server's folders edit with note pad or whatever you prefer and add an rcon password dont worry only people with your IP address and the rcon password can be admin Note: after doing this to use a command that is normally only possable by typing in to the server terminal type "rcon " then your command (if you need more help just reply I'm right here :))

You can type in meta list in to the servers command box (not the in game one) and if it says command not recognized you didn't install it properly

thats admin on certain mods not the actual server commands
youll have to go into the server console and type sv_cheats 1
where is the server console? is it the command console in the tf2 game?

You have to go to the man srcds console windows of your server and then type sv_cheats 1

Yes you can change it. Just change the "+map mapname" parameter in the start.bat

Standard notepad would probably work fine but it's alot easier and cleaner on Notepad++

1 did you port forward 2 it should be stated by the plugins

it's not an error, you can join your server and it will go away, it just means that it is idling.
