The bearing on the crank and the rod went to shit. New crank and rod was so expensive that i put in an 998S engine instead with slipper clutch and quickshift. Anyway with normal dry clutch i alway blip on downshift. If you dont do that on the track (or road for that matter) you will end up locking up your rear tire, bumping up and down as you go into a corner. And thats never a good thing. Here is a video from same event but in 2014 with the 998S engine. Also tuned and it feels so much stronger. I even ran my first competition ever that day. Ducati Weekend 2014
The engine was a waste. Parts alone on it costed more than to get another engine. Sad really. But now i have an 998S engine instead, and its a good upgrade :)
Like hand carried letters on old sailing ships, our conversation may take some time - hope you kept it though to rebuild at some stage for the sake of retaining originality of the bike - these older specials are only climbing in value :) :)
