I was inspired too after watching his video. Mine was in the mail today but I bought as a complete, with Paris trucks and Lander wheels. Had to get used to the wheelbase at first but now it's fun to ride it
This looks like so much fun! Very cool that it's made from recycled fishing nets. Also congrats on channel growth. Turn around and you've gone from 14K to 70. well done.
This is awesome! Love the 85mm wheels that looks so good. I'm on a kick right now building 4" hanger Mini cruisers with 90mm wheels and a Meraki. I've done some setup modding to be able to get the deck height down to 5" without wheelbite. Mini cruisers with big wheels are insane fun.
Lookin good my man! Happy to see your face again. You've got me interested in a Lander board now for extreme portability and the fact it doesn't seem like itll warp as easy if left in a car 24/7!
I have one and while Penny is still tough to beat on weight, I love my Lander Rio and especially being able to pick it up with the holes. They have them in cool colors now too. Just wish they'd make a direct Penny competitor so like 22in or less, though I might be in the minority.
Yo! Sick setup. I just tried building one like this with the doozies and bent my back top cup washer first day 😂 what top cup washers did you use on yours? You said the replacement ones were a lot stronger right?
@@concrete-waves Concrete Waves set up was based on Lander RIO version, 24 inch (or so). Longer type, RODEO, 30 inch, is also available. Have one, love it (70 mm Cadillac wheels)
Cool, thanks for replying! I'm inspired. Gonna try it out too just swapping the wheels with the 62mm waterborne wheels since I have that set lying around.
What a great video. I wonder if you have any thoughts on the 30" lander decks? I am a beginner and i currently have a Globe big blazer which is 32" with 78a wheels. Its great, but your video has me wondering about building this board, cos it looks so cool. Cheers.
Thanks i appreciate that. Hmmm well the 30" Rodeo Lander is also thinner and has a shorter wheelbase compared to the big blazer. So I'd say it comes down to if you think you'll feel comfortable on a smaller setup 🤔
*Great video!* 🤙🏼👌🏼👌🏼🤙🏼 Love setup discussions, the trial and error of findin a setup that feels just right. Can be a frustratin process but So rewardin! 75mm blue In Heats would have been my guess. The 100s look monstrous 😂
thanks man. 70-75mm probably are the most functional for most scenarios but I felt something different when stepping on the 85s setup 🤣 Those 100s were wild
I purchased the Lander Rodeo and dammit if it won't take bigger wheels w/o risers. The 61mm seem to almost mas out with 2mm to spare. Seems weird as it has the same thinning and raised edges with additional wheel flares yet the Rio seems like it can.
@@49684 That really depends. The rodeo is shorter and thinner ( Length: 30" x Width: 8" x Wheelbase: 14.5") versus the penny longboard ( Length: 36" x Width: 9.5" x Wheelbase: 25") The rodeo will be more portable and sketchier with more speed, given the smaller wheelbase. I'd prob recommend the penny longboard if you're still a newbie getting the fundamentals down. Just not sure where you are in your journey
@@49684 A few heavy-dutier options that come to mind are the Loaded Omakase, Beercan boards, 9-ply atom drop-through longboard. Landyachtz also makes great completes - I would just double check with them if it can hold you safely 🙏

Ay, I have one of these! I was holding out for colors, which they finally released but I got a black Rio complete on sale. Really want to add titanium hardware and Tensor Mag Light Lo Trucks, which I believe would put the complete weight from 5.2lb down to about 4.5lb, so not much more than a Penny.
I was inspired to build this after finding PonNy Cruising’s channel.

Did you put risers for the 85mm wheels?

Cool concept. I wish they made these fishnet decks in larger sizes for SurfSkates
I totally agree. Larger deck would be great but I think they're trying to hit the smaller/portable cruiser market. Hopefully in the future 🤞

would the penny nickel trucks fit well with the setup you shared?
good question... I didn't get a chance to test this setup but they should work since the Landers decks have a similar width to the Nickel

Would you rather stick with TKPs than switching to RKPs with this deck and for which reason?
Yes I stuck with TKPs since I think RKPs would feel squirrely/unstable for the 13.25" wheelbase... But I mean, it's always worth a try 🤷♂
