I had the pleasure of listening to Mehdi Hassan in a private mehfil in St Louis,MO,USA. The program was arranged by one of my friends in the basement of his house in 1980's when Khan Sahib was visiting USA.There is nothing like being in a private mehfil with small group of Ghazal loving people.It will remain one of the best experience of my life . I had the good fortune to listen to the Maestro in the UK in the 80s, and have been totally inspired by his singing. I also sing a little, and love singing Khan sbs ghazals. The other maestro I adore is Ustad Ghulam Ali. These two legends are my favourite all time singers. They are just phenomenal. No one comes close. ❤❤❤

What a soulful voice - a bit husky but it common people's voice. And what a heavenly lyrics. Three musical legends from Pakistan - Mehdi Hasanji, Nusrat Fateh Ali Khan Sab aur Ghulam Ali Sab. Hats off to all three
I always think that there is so much weightage in the lyrics of the Ghazal . It's probably the highest grade of Urdu language. Even people who know Urdu, can get confused. Such terrific singing. This Ghazal is actually a bit simple without the improvisations . But from a literal meaning it's not simple .
A true music mastrio... I had the prestige of listening to him in live show twice in my life. I was a student and poor at that time, but I knew I had to do it ... I charged it on my American Express card..😅 And of course I snuck in back stage too and got his autograph which I treasure to this day... and will pass it on to my children as my legacy.. I don't have anything else as valuable to pass on to them.

@Ehsan1Danish dear brother,i will tell you a real story about that.in 1997 i went to Devon Avenue in Chicago.there was a video shop out there and still is by the name of "Al Mansoor Video.the owner was a young guy of then my age named "Nadeem".he knew me very well that this guy is a khan sahib fanatic.i asked at the counter about the Cds of khan sahib.the guy not Nadeem told me that why i am looking for the cds when a live khan sahib's concert is about to start in few hours.
Quadar bhai, This has been my very favourite Ghazal of khan saheb. Have been listening to this since 1990s. This perhaps is the best version. Great. No words for him. His music is divine and you can say that the renditions come straight from almighty, Ishwar allah.
Hi iam from Chennai, India a urdu speaking muslim name is afsar shareef, i am really fortunate i think that i had a chance to be part of the live concert of khan saheb about 18 yrs b ack. i was a kid, after that khan sahab never came to chennai. MY only regret is and will be that after he fell sick the Pakistani govertnment or any well wishers in the world never bothered to give him the best treatment. ये ग़ज़ल मैं घर से अपनी नौकरी के स्थान तक कार में सुनता हुआ जाता था। एक बार ब्रायन सिलास की एक दोस्त उनको सुनने आए और ये शेर सुना रही थी जो सही नहीं था, मैंने उसे सही बताया कि ये ऐसे है। उन्होंने मुझसे पूछा कि आपके पास है ये ग़ज़ल? मैंने कहा कि मैं रोज सुनते हुए आता हूं। उन्होंने कहा कि मुझे मिल जाएगी, मैं इसे टेप कराके दे दूंगी। मैंने दे दी, लेकिन वो टेप मुझे फिर नहीं मिली। भगवान का शुक्र की यूट्यूब का जमाना आया और अब जब भी दिल करता है, मैं सुन लेता हूं।

I am very thankful to my father who introduced Mehdi Hassan sb when i was only six year old. After listening him i learned how to behave with loved ones.

Quadar bhai, This has been my very favourite Ghazal of khan saheb. Have been listening to this since 1990s. This perhaps is the best version. Great. No words for him. His music is divine and you can say that the renditions come straight from almighty, Ishwar allah.
Hi iam from Chennai, India a urdu speaking muslim name is afsar shareef, i am really fortunate i think that i had a chance to be part of the live concert of khan saheb about 18 yrs b ack. i was a kid, after that khan sahab never came to chennai. MY only regret is and will be that after he fell sick the Pakistani govertnment or any well wishers in the world never bothered to give him the best treatment. What is the use of we talking about him so much now. even for that matter
Bahut sari dil ki achhi achhi baten suna kar bade achhe mood mein Khan Sahib ne ise gaya hai ,to ismein kuchh alag hi maza hai. Rare one ! Thanks for uploading.

ये ग़ज़ल मैं घर से अपनी नौकरी के स्थान तक कार में सुनता हुआ जाता था। एक बार ब्रायन सिलास की एक दोस्त उनको सुनने आए और ये शेर सुना रही थी जो सही नहीं था, मैंने उसे सही बताया कि ये ऐसे है। उन्होंने मुझसे पूछा कि आपके पास है ये ग़ज़ल? मैंने कहा कि मैं रोज सुनते हुए आता हूं। उन्होंने कहा कि मुझे मिल जाएगी, मैं इसे टेप कराके दे दूंगी। मैंने दे दी, लेकिन वो टेप मुझे फिर नहीं मिली। भगवान का शुक्र की यूट्यूब का जमाना आया और अब जब भी दिल करता है, मैं सुन लेता हूं।
