    I go to my dermatologists about every 4 years for a hair and body check.
    I started when a wave nouveau service caused me excessive breakage and damage due to the double process.
    In the 1970's, I was told by a white dermatologist to wear my hair chemical - free.
    That ended by salon visits because I had mid-sized back 3B/C and salons in my area wouldn't service me because I didn't have a relaxer!!! You are so right on the treatment those of us without relaxers received.

    I would never get braids, my scalp is so sensitive, even when I was younger my scalp would itch when braided, I can only wear it in a scrunchie for a short time. My scalp feels hot with my own hair when I workout, cooler when I put it up for a while. I remember in grade school (60’s)one of my best friends had straight blonde hair parted on one side and I remember asking my grandma to straighten mine because I wanted to look like a surfer girl😂. The result didn’t quite look like my friend’s hair and it didn’t flow like hers or lay on my scalp like hers. Thank you both, good conversation.

    I love these so much. I’m learning a lot. I’m 32 and I’ve always been natural. It was the longest in high school but hasn’t been long since 🥲 I will be trying more wash and goes and low manipulation styles. But I do love my twists out. I just make sure I see my stylist when I can for a blow out and trim

    Collar bone is usually my longest length, which is okay with me. I’m not a hair person, I like simple, easy and healthy that’s why I love my wash and go, it suits my active workouts and being a carefiver.

    I had an ovarian cyst It caused my hair to fall out at the top. I went to a dermatologist who gave me two shots in my scalp. It’s been 2 or 3 years since then. My hair is trying to grow back. I am now in my 70s. The top around my edges are slow at growing. I’ve always had thick long bra strap hair length hair. I’m using herbs with avocado oil as a carrier. What else can I do?

    Curly Magic definitely gives the definition. I clearly love the Jheri Curl look because I love me some curly Magic. I’m curious what the newest Curly Magic combination is. I’m still using curly magic with Devacurl supercream. Sidebar: where can we find the tug study that a Naisha referenced? Sidebar 2: when I wear my hair in wash n go styles, how do I safely pull my hair up to workout?

    • @BlackGirlCurls
      @BlackGirlCurls  6 месяцев назад

      We’ve combine Curly Magic with a number of products…ultimately what you pair with it depends on what type of result you would like achieve as a result. The study Naisha referred to can be found in the description box.
      The best way to help you with pulling your hair up, would be something that we can help you with in our private SeeSomeCurls course community.

    In regard to the botanical gel comment, does K Curly Curling Custard perform the same as Uncle Funky? They have almost the same ingredient list, the main difference is the order.

      We've found that Kinky Curly works best with the system...it's amongst our recommendations, but don't tend to pair with any other products outside of the system.

    Good conversation. Speaking of wash n go's my Auntie wants to wear a wash n go but she sweats in her head at night. Are y'all familiar with a good harder hold gel to hold her curls longer, her hair is on the softer side but not silky 🤔?

    • @BlackGirlCurls
      @BlackGirlCurls  6 месяцев назад

      I have worked with clients that have night sweats and the most important step is the application of the gel, having realistic expectations and choosing the appropriate gels to achieve that result. We can troubleshoot that with you auntie over in our private SeeSomeCurls course community. The link to subscribe can be found in the description box.
