@@bennylevine387 I dont think Ray was the pipsqueak type. Ray would beat that ass if anyone got outta line with him and we all know that Bobby loved to fight as well, neither of them didn't take no mess from nobody.
@@sharonhart3858 Right, I was just talking from the context of if this weren't make believe. And in real like Steve Kanaly or whatever (is that his name?) and Patrick Duffy aren't going to fight their way out of many bars. Jock is another deal. I can buy that he's a tough guy. But you're right, calling Ray a pipsqueak was a little inaccurate. He might look small but that's just cuz everyone around him is so big.
Yeah, Jock tried to calm down Tom Owens but Tom wouldn't listen to reason and attacked Jock only for him and his sons to get their asses royally kicked.
Jim Davis filmed so many fight scenes in his long career - a lot of them from Stories Of The Century. I would not be surprised if the producers went out of their way to do this segment as a tribute to those many fight scenes. Jock Ewing - what a fucking badass. Of course it didn't hurt to have Bobby and Ray around.
Tucker would have been good. So would Lee Marvin, though he was also in poor health by the early '80s. I think in the end they killed off the Jock character mainly because the cast didn't want Jim Davis replaced.
Jock was probably the only person J.R. acted scared of. He never cheated on Ellie, that I know of. Jim Davis was good in westerns, he was in several western movies and shows, including Gunsmoke. He reminded me of Lee Marvin.
During the war with rays mom who was a beautiful redheaded nurse.thats why when she was dying she sent Ray a wild 15 year-old to jock but never telling jock that Ray was his son.
This really happened, they were on break from filming on location and that guy was the town bully, Jock had an affair with his wife before and the guy wanted revenge. They put it in the script and thus the legend of the Ewings was born.
Jock Ewing was made of iron and vinegar. They do not make them like that anymore, or would they even allow a character like that on television these days, sadly. Too masculine.
What they didn’t fully disclose is how Jock screwed Tom out of his land by underhanded means, and he spent the next 32 years looking to get even. Meanwhile, Jock had completely forgotten all about it!
Tom Owens needed a hobby. Waited 32 years and Jock didn't remember him. And Jock kicked his ass. The dude disappeared after the first punch. Tom Owens needs counseling.
If this doesnt prove to you that Wes Parmalee wasnt Jock then nothing will This and his power speech to Bobby Jock would never back down or back away from a fight!
I never understood why Tom got mad when Jock didn’t recognize him. You figure he would try to refresh his memory instead of decking him. Then again TV not real life.
Love how at the end Ray has to laugh at J.R. because it’s so absurd he lifted a finger to do anything in the fight….even if it was just breaking a mug over a guy who was already dazed and half unconscious lol. It was pretty out of character for him….usually J.R. was the one getting decked when his mouth gets him in trouble. My favorite is the scene from the fourth or fifth season where Donna shoves him in the pool fully dressed.
So, don’t know anything about the rest of the episode, but it looks like boys were having a lot of fun. I assume this is after Jock learned Ray was his son.
Not really Both Jock and this guy were pretty old school where you want eye to eye toe to toe settled it with your fists Plus you never drew a gun on an unarmed man Even in 2022/2023
I love how strong Jock was and he never had a sign of fear in his eyes. Jock was gangster.
He was a White OG!
Well you'd be without fear too if you were backed up by the insurmountable duo of Patrick Duffy and whatever pipsqueak played this Ray guy.
Jock was THE MAN

Ahhright .. I'm lookin' right at ya. Now what the hell do you want!? Classic Jock.
Jock is the kind of man people follow into battle. One of Jock's famous quotes was " A man who never made enemies, never made anything"
That was Jim Davis in real life he was Jock and Jock was Jim.
"BIG JOCK" IS STANDING ON BUSINESS!!!
One of my favorite episodes!
Jim Davis Was Awesome in that role. R.I.P. to a Great Actor. 🙏
🙏👍
@@ameliapalmer4221 Agreed
JR was the MVP of that bar fight.
He came off the bench to score his 2 points.
I like how Jock was the noble man who went and paid for damaging the entire place, even though Jock didn't start the fight.
Jock was always my favorite
Mine to
Jim Davis was DALLAS!
Yes he was
Jock Ewing was always my favorite as well
Jock: That's the best fight we ever had!

Jock: kickin butt
Bobby: kickin butt
Ray: kickin butt
J.R. : takes off watch 🤔😂😂
J.R. did smash a beer mug over some guy's head. Gotta give him that.
I love how Jock tried to diffuse the situation. But when the guy questioned his manhood it was on.
And that is a true Alpha he not looking for trouble or to throw his weight around but could also handle himself.
Yeah, Jock tried to calm down Tom Owens but Tom wouldn't listen to reason and attacked Jock only for him and his sons to get their asses royally kicked.
Yeah I know well since I never said the name ewing was a big deal we ain't got nothing to argue about love it.

J.R. breaking the beer mug over the guy's head. Ha ha!! Love the International Scout they were driving.

Jim was as tough as nails in life. What a contrast compared to that fatso sissy Howard Keel.
Bobby and Ray jump in right away, while JR sits back and sips his beer.
Jock was a mans man. Don't make 'em like that anymore
I know 🙏🙌
He sure was and way better than sissy punk Clayton FATlow. Total punk he was.
Only other actor who could have played Jock was James Arness. RIP to Jim and Jim.
2:54 JR was like not the watch lol 3:38 in the corner fighting the air.grew to appreciate JR as I got older. 😅
Jock was real man! I thought Forrest Tucker would have been a good replacement for Jim Davis when he passed but hard to replace a legend.
yup 😆
Tucker would have been good. So would Lee Marvin, though he was also in poor health by the early '80s.

I remember reading where this is the episode where Jim started feeling sick from his illness.

LOL At 4:07 Ray gets a real good laugh out JR's beer mug head smash.
I did too!! Literally laughed out loud 😂
I’m sorry this is one of the greatest scenes in all of television.

God getting poor Jock Ewing into fight like that at his age. Jim Davis R.I.P.

Sorry to break the news to you, but he did cheat on Ellie. That's how Ray was born.

There was the emotional affair Jock had with Julie Grey.

He was giving off serious cuckolded "man" vibes.
3:08 is one of my favorite moments in all of tv when Jock has had enough.
My favorite fights are with jock and his boy's.
Jim Davis was kind of a bad ass....I liked him in the intro to big Jake when he met the biggest badass, John Wayne
Jim was way way way tougher than Marion. Jim played college football when FOOTBALL was REAL.
@@johnr033 Marion Morrison played at USC
Gotta love the sawdust/dirt floor in the bar. Don't see that much anymore.
Lucky they had JR fighting in their corner.
Jr. You all go ahead imma just gonna enjoy my beer

J.R.: "I'm a lover not a fighter." 😄
Jock was a bad cat

The last true cowboy -> Jock Ewing !!!!
Damm Right Big Daddy Jock Ewing
LMAO!!!!!.......J.R. took off his watch like he was getting ready to fight, but just sat there while his brothers/father were fighting.
Jock was Gangster Daddy
I swear I just said Jock was gangster, he never backed down from anything or anybody.
Jock with his line now I didn't claim my name was so we are good was a great line
The only time u see jock hanging out with all his sons except Gary( Knots Landing) . Would have been nice if Gary was there too.
yeahh you've got a point! Gary was always the outsider
I learned one with these Dallas clips Jock, Bobby and Ray are the fighters JR not so much although if he has to he will.

J.R. sitting off to the side lmao
haaa i know right he had the easy part!

Dallas voted the best tv show ever by the National Organization of Women
That only proves woman are idiots
Jock was a good looking man bobby was handsome and good looking jr just was messing but he played his role

he really can lay a goud smack to a guy kerl don/t mess with jock
Jim Davis was a Charles Bronson clone.
That Tom Owens guy face literally looks like leather!!
haaaaa - this is the funniest yet
It's 4 against 4 but instead the great Jock Ewing takes out two of them on their own!! JR sees Jock taking on two guys but still sits there? WTF?
He knew Jock could kick ass
J.R. said i paid alot of money for that rolex they cant afford to replace my shit. lol
This just proves just because you became wealthy, doesn't mean you forgot where you came from.
J.R. is just sitting there lol
Tom, it's Ben......spider caught a few flies......

When Dallas was actually good. After Jim Davis' passing, it just wasn't the same despite it becoming the JR Ewing show.

What happened 32 years ago between jock and tom
I personally think given how JR is, he just didn't want to get his watch wet. I mean its a Rolex, not a Timex... :D
JR says he's a lover, not a fighter lolo.
Why is it jr never gets into the fight
