Interesting. I'm thinking about gold plating a 3D print to hold a hydrogen sensor to help seal the print from H2 sorption (atm pressure and temp). Probably still cheaper and faster lead time than a CNC stainless holder.

You can't gold plate rubber because it is not conductive. However, if you could make the rubber conductive, then theoretically you could gold plate it.
