Ed is the definition of a coach! .... no bs directly to the point in a lunguage that anybody who shoots can understand!!!
I say this every time he’s in a video, but Ed is such a good coach. He communicates his methods so well. I just hope his diary is open again next year so I can book a lesson or two 😂
Ed seems like a very likeable chap and his passion comes across in his teachings. Good stuff guys
At my club there is always so much confusion around certain discipline's and rules. Would be great to see more of ed shooting with TGS 👍

Excellent video, you are a pretty good shot.
Ive been shooting sporting clays for 30 years and enjoy it very much even though Im not the greatest. Before that though I learned shooting clays as a way to help when hunting, so gun was always held in the way you would in the field hunting. And Ive yet to see anyone walk a field hunting pheasant with a gun shouldered. If I did I doubt Id want to hunt with them.
Id like to see someone who just shoots pro sporting clay shooter would do in a hunt without shoulder ready and knowing before hand were, how fast, direction and from what direction the target is coming from.

We shoot 'casual' sporting at our general (pistol, rifle and shotgun) shooting club....and we have always shot 'gun down'... it used to be compulsory, but lately I have noticed a lot shoot with gun mounted...... I was taught 'gun down' so usually shoot that way. Due to covid and advanced age (80 now) I am not getting any better, but I can work on that. Watching these videos is instructive.... 🙂

FITASC - Fairly Impossible Targets At Sporting Clays
Question. When you are shooting O/R do you have to unmount your gun to the holding point or can you keep it mounted ?
I like FITASC Because targets tend to be extreme and I don't feel as bad when I miss because of the nature of the targets
What do these shooters (and other UK shooters) think of american trap? Thats what i have shot mostly, but watching these videos makes me want to try out some other disciplines.
Future video request. Can you do a Video where you explain and show flight path of a target by name

When shooting doubles may you keep the gun mounted or must you drop to the ready position for the second bird?
Around the 15 minute mark Ed says you don't need to dismount, and he recommended on that shot to stay mounted

Very imformative video , could you just quote the chokes you using & cartridge size .
All Hull Cartridge, All 1/2 choke
60-90m - Hull Pro One
100-120 - Hull Sovereign 6.5
130 - 3” hull mega bombs (can’t remember which exact load)

How is this different from 5 Stand?
You shoot from a hoop, for a very different set of targets, in a different order from a gun down position….
25cm from the apex of your shoulder axis is the measurement.
